wont start, cant pop clutch
After work last night it was probly around 20 degrees, coldest its been so far this winter. I put the key in and turned it, radio and dash lights all came on, and brightly too, not dim. Car would not turn over or click.
I tried pushing it and popping the clutch (in second gear b/c ive never been able to pop it in first) and it fired up for just about a second, and as soon as it fired up it started to die so i put the clutch in and gave it a little gas, but then it died out. pushed it back up the parking lot and tried again, same results.
I'm going to check the battery terminals today and even get a new battery (what kind do I get?)
WHAT ELSE COULD BE THE PROBLEM???
Any help is greatly appreciated.

that was easy...
i used a can of compressed air and blew a whole lot of dust and crap out of the key hole in the ignition.
started right up. still gonna check the battery though.

Hmm never thought of the canned air in the ignition to clean the VATS sensor.
Glad you got it fixed

If you get any battery I would get an optima. Seems like you got the problem fixed. Was the security light on when it wouldnt start?

You might want to get a spare starter relay as well... I had the same problem this week, and I think that was my problem. Couldn't hurt to have one in the glove box, as it's the same part number for the starter, ignition, and both cooling fans.

Mine started doing this again this week. Now, the dash lights won't come on so, I'm now suspecting that the ECM is bad again.
I had this changed when this all happened this last spring. Was driving and then all the dash lights went out and the gages went to zero.
After they changed the ECM, this fixed it for about most of the year but, now its back. uh!
