no the lid is just that a lid and thats it. but a lid is a lid so any brand you go with will be the same. the $300 kit has a part to get cold air from the bottom of the car. i dont know for sure but i have head that if you have a ram air car it is a wast so $ and you should just get the lid.

Why hasn't anyone recomended a LS6 intake manifold? The engine is a '99 and doesn't have one. I'd get one before headers.

you'll see way more gains out of a set of headers than you will an ls6 intake.

That's good to know. How much HP are the headers vs. intake?
And how about cost? Is it possible to do both for $1K?

Amazing when you think of it 10hp for $100 lid and 20-25hp for $1500 headers and ls6 intake. Now we are starting to go deep into it. So obviously the lid is a great upgrade to start. The rest will follow.

YES the lid is by far the best bang for your buck upgrade ...i kinda wish i had an intake instead now though....i like the way they look better and after seeing some results on here of ppl with them gaining a few more hp....

What do you guys think of the super chip and those programmers. The stage 2 super chip states like 25hp gain false or true. The chip is $279 and the programmer is $499

    Thanks again for the feedback

Thank you. So headers and an ls6 intake and a tune seems to be the way. Where would be a good place to buy or look at the stuff?

I personally would keep an eye out in the for sale sections and save a ton of money. If you want new though check out newera or Summit.

I love the quiet sound of my flowmaster..... but i also like the sound of my cutout.. the flowmaster is great on the highway its not loud at all.
But I run the cutout open 24/7.
