Other half of the crossover is done.
Just one more little piece. Would have finished but the mosquitoes were getting nuts.
Get the bottom half of the downpipe done tomorrow and tear it all
down to get welded and coated.

Downpipe is pretty much done. Just 2 last connections to make underneath.
Try and figure how I want the wastegate mounted and routed tomorrow.

This pretty much finishes the hot-side fab work.
Just need to attach the wastegate pipe to the downpipe and
splice a mini-V-band on to it so I can get the DP in and out.
going to order (2) Tial 44mm wastegate outlet flanges to make a custom
mini-V-band. Should work like a charm.
Really wanted to mount the wastegate up by the turbo, but it was just
going to be too much extra work to get it in there.

Few things done.
Everything is welded and up at the coaters, should get back mid next week.
Also found some used LS2 - 243 heads for $400 that should be here
for this weekend. Boost should love the 1/2 pt compression drop and
the bigger runners and intake valve.
Also got the gauges mounted.

so you are doing the fabbing yourself? What are you using to weld?

Yes, fab'd in the driveway using simple $175 cut-off saw and
$300 mini-MIG welder.
Use flux-core gasless wire to tac everything together, then pay
someone $100 to weld it up. Practice a lot before hand and you can weld it yourself.
Not much to it.

sweet i am looking at getting a welder, because i want to do almost everything on my 69 camaro myself, even the fabbing of the pipes, and the modding of the floor pan. The only thing i will not do is install the rear suspension
Props to you man on what you are doing, you just motivated me a little more with this build

white- 01 chevy tahoe
Nice work bro... lemme know how the 460 tranny holds... ive been thru three rebuilds and the last time my trans guy said there is nothing else he could do to the 460,from servos to a precision ind t/c with a 2000 stall and kevlar bands etc...the whole works... I'm pushing 418 to the wheels with 10lbs of boost and a 75 shot up to 8lbs.I was barking the tires in second gear down the strip...I've just heard that the 460 can't hold up to anything close to 500 hp with the weight of the tahoe also but i might be wrong i'm no tranny expert. I was thinking of swapping out for a 480

Got my fingers crossed on the built 4L60E holding up.
The 5,000 lbs gvw is def. a problem with 500hp Tahoes.
With the upgraded input drum, sunshell and output shaft I have
that should cover the major weaknesses of the 60E.
Plenty people out there running built 60E's with turbos though and
holding up just fine. LS1truck.com is full of em.
