well here is a good one 5.0 mustang whatever
well it starts at a gas pump the owner of a new 08 mustang gt was talking up his new car and how fast it was. so i listen for a min or two. he step over and asked me about the lil z. he wanted to know if i thought i could keep up with his stock 4.6l. so i smiled and said i think i can keep up with that new car.. so he said he had a friend that was showing up at the gas station in a few with a hopped up 92 fox body mustang with a 5.0 liter .. i paused for a min and said ill race your friend then you tell me if my car could keep up with yours.. so we waited a few min pass he ask me if i was all stock or did i just have anexhaust leak [lm2] hehe.... so the friend shows up ar was completly stock except the flow masters of course they talk and come over to me a say we will race but for a bill so i thought huh what an easy way to make a 100 bucks... we ride to remote location stop and take off from a dead stop he spins [standard of course] i stall, chirp and leave him as soon as we take off and the end of the 1/4 i was about 7 cars ahead lol so they payed me and stop talking crap i love when a guy talk out of his butt then has to eat it.... till next time [love my lil z]

That's kinda weird. Guess he got what he wanted... Some people have to learn the hard way, just because a car is newer does not mean that it's faster.

Well done! I'd love to run into an almost stock fox-body that wanted to run for $100! That being said, pretty much any N/A Mustang that's bone stock shouldn't be too much for an LS1 with a capable driver to handle.

Why would a guy with a brand new car be bragging about his buddy's '92...?

Because (with Flowmasters) I imagine that '92 5.0 sounds pretty nasty (compared to the 2008 GT assuming it still had the stock exhaust). It sounds like the guy didn't have much of a clue as to what's truly fast and what isn't. The shame of it all, the guy in the '08 GT would've given you a MUCH better run.
Back to the sound issue -- I've always thought the Foxbody's with 2-chamber flowmasters, an h-pipe and a decent cam were some of the best sounding cars on the road. That being said, with those mods I'd still be stuck in the low 14's - high 13's. Plenty of bark, just not much bite!

I don't get it. Why didn't he just give you the $100 from the start?

Why did the retard in the 08 GT think a 92 fox with exhaust could beat him...? After the win you shoulda offered to give the $100 bucks back if the 08 could beat you, that would have been much more fair haha.

because if I was driving the fox, it would have been able to outrun the '08 GT, and the LS1
