I ride. Although I haven't road for a while, since my bro almost died in a accident March 5th 07. And, I thought I would hold off until he's ready to ride again. Which I hope is this year.

My sled. 02 MXZ X 600. It could be stock, it could be modded. Who knows?

Damn I like that sled, I saw one of those for sale (very similar color scheme) and was so tempted to buy it.

    Sorry about your bro.

I ride, around my area, and UP Michigan. Usually Bruce Crossing/Houghton/Copper Harbor for the UP. Am surprised to see this many people with awesome sleds. I would love a new Dragon or Ski-Doo. The new Ski-Doo is suppose to be the best 2 stroke made so far, watched a movie on all the new updates.

Thats all we do up here with 8 months of winter. I use to put around 1500 hard miles on my sled every winter. But I havn't ridden in 4 years now. I still have my stock 03 prox 600. This is the longest snowmachine race ever. www.irondog.org

I love it, I can take out 700s without a problem, and give most 800s a run. Although, that's due to some tinkering, and my weight.

My brother is doing much better. He was in coma for like a month, had to learn how to talk again, walk, the who deal. But he's working his way toward a somewhat full recovery. I doubt it will ever be a full recovery, as his short term memory is still kind of minimal. But, it's coming along. We'll see, I'm just glad he's still around.

That's it, 1500 a year? Ha, I could do that in a few months when I was in high school. Shit, I put on 4500 miles back in 97-98 winter. But I normally do about 2500 or so a year.

i snowmobile only a couple times a year in upstate NY, they get a lot of snow up there and there are shit loads of trails. My family has a hunting cam in the woods up there and there are endless amounts of trails right near by, its by far the most fun i have every year

the people up there have sleds that are probably worth more than their vehicles, its crazy seeing all the new souped up sleds, makes me a little jealous

Now another question, who owns a ripsaw camoplast track. My buddy has the 1.5" and that 97 XCR runs with newer 600-700's just because of traction. Thing is like a slick for the snow. I will be ordering one after my H/C is done.

I don't, but I do have 144 picks and 8" or 12" (can't remember) carbides. That does the trick

My buddy and I go to the UP 3-6 times a year. Houghton, Copper Harbor, sometimes Bruce Crossing and Silver City a little farther to the west sometimes. In the two days that we ride we can usually average anywhere from 200-400 miles in a day. We are thinking this year of packing and going as far west 1 day staying overnight and than returning the next day.
We are also planning a trip to the west this year, we aren't completely sure of where but I'm hoping it will be close to Yellowstone.

    He rides a 2008 MXZ 800
    I ride a 2003 MXZ 800

    We bring two spares or one friend , whichever;

    2004 MXZ 800 and a 2004 MXZ 800 mountain sled.

Back in 2000 we almost came close to freezing to death, when we got caught in a March blizzard and a lot of inexperience at the time with what would be open and what wasn't. We were betting on a bar to be open south of Rockland, it wasn't and the sleds were out of gas. Luckily the owner drove by an hour later and he stopped to let us fill up to make it back

Yep. I didn't get to go every weekend. Also we don't have any of those I guess you guys would call them groomed trails. LOL. We make our own trails. Up here only the girls ride on groomed trails. So yeah the rougher the better. We have 2 to 3 feet tall mouguls on all of our trails and thats the smaller woops. I wouldn't be able to go slow enough to be allowed to any groomed trails.

Are they going to allow the 800 class again for the endurance races this year? Last I heard was 600 was the biggest class they would let run.

How are the trails over there vs. the UP if you go up there also?

I'm planning on doing some snowmobile radar runs this winter in some area called chain of lakes near where you live. I don't know anything about it really, but one of my club members is going to trailer mine up for me. Can't wait.

600 is the new maximum. There are stock 600 engines at about 135-140 hp and there is an open calss 600 as well. I am not sure of the hp on those engines. I am going to guess about 160 hp.

For trail riding, I like the U.P. near the Cedarville area.
