Friday night at this track is a free for all, run whatever...I bet you could ride a bicycle down the track
Prep isn't the best, and his car was trapping about 117 I think, so I dunno. Every time I've been there on a friday the prep is so so, but I hear it's excellent on the weekends when it counts.

Well, I hope to put down some good times myself. I'm going to the track on Friday, its like some kind of Mustang drag day. So, I'll see what some of them run then

So when will you consider a car fast? When it's in the 6's LOL! How can you base a cars performance level off of YOUR standards? That's all your doing. Your saying how you feel. IMO, I don't think you should bash another guy for running 12.40's just because you reportedly run quicker. Your talking like a guy that runs 8's and not 11's. If I were these guys I wouldn't have even got all stirred up because from the beginning it looked like you were here to shake things up.

3- 03/04 Cobras *not counting saleens and non supercharged cobras..... I have never posted one kill story.
And the truth is I dont even acknowledge a mustang as a seroius threat on the street anymore, unless it is heavliy modded then the outcome is usually the same..... overated!

Any car can be fast as hell, it's all about what you put into it. Run what you brung. I've posted this vid before, but it's just too good not to again. My friend's 87 Mustang, shut my stupid mouth about chevy vs. ford bullcrap....doesn't matter in the end, it's really about money, and he has more than me

A serious single turbo setup is an entirely different story. Much more efficient. A supercharger is more than likely not going to get that job done without the support of a higher flowing intake manifold.
Well wouldn't you agree that all N/A 99-04 2-valve's are pathetic to some point? Those cars are hard pressed for 11.90's with heads, cams, intake, full bolt-ons, full exhaust, gears, drivetrain/suspension upgrades, massive weight reduction, slicks, skinnies, the whole nine. If you ever get a chance read the old "Two-Valve Shootout" article in Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords.

I've read it and spoke to a few of those contestants. No they arent "hard pressed" to hit 11's. They are pathetic when not done corretly. The lack of bore is the biggest issue. The big bore kits are running bad ass!!

I know this guy and he only has a heads+cams setup with a stock intake on his car. Yes the interior is stripped(race seats) but it can be driven on the street with out any issues. It is an auto however. Bill Putnam was running high 11s as well with stock heads with a VT cam and bullitt intake. Stock shortblock.
Now 2vs with built bottom ends and non-stock intakes are running 10s with no issues.Last edited by mogs01gt; 10-23-2008 at 10:30 AM.

Most of the guys in that contest were not new to the modular game, and had already had vast knowledge of the 2-valve engines during the time of that shootout. Those cars were pretty much built as good as it gets for a 2v motor. I would consider them done correctly.
Ehh...okay. 11.90's with a fully-built setup including built suspension, slicks, and NO BACK SEATS...I would say they could be considered 'hard pressed' for 11's alright. Not trying to be a di*k Mogs, just honest. Now those motors can be downright nasty with forced induction.
With a "POWER-ADDER", yes!

Correct, at the TIME they were pretty close to the best you can get. Now those mods are WAY behind the current times.

Okay, well lets call it HEAVILY built then. Does that make you feel better LOL! I'd bet if it were an LT- or LS1 with H/C and all that other junk you would consider it "fully-built". I mean besides the fact that it's missing a stroker crank, bored cylinders, and higher compression what else isn't built?
Umm...I believe the 10-second car driven by Ken at Modular Performance you are referring to is powered by a four-valve. Correct me if i'm wrong!

No I dont consider that fully built. When nothing is left stock on the engine, its fully built. Like Fox bodies with windsor style engines with aftermarket blocks, internals, heads etc etc. That is a fully built engine. Plus its an ls1, you dont need heads. Stock ported heads can easily put an ls1 in the 10s on the stock bore with aftermarket suspension. Now a stock ls1 in a Fox body can put that car into the 10s or probably low 11s without touching the engine.

I can agree to that. Still very modded though.
Stock castings or aftermarket, whatever the case may be, as long as they are "touched" they can be considered built.
Probably 11's with a stock LS1 engine and supporting drivetrain/suspension/weight reduction mods.
