Finally! SRT8 Challenger!!
Ok so Im headed to the meet that was set up an hour out from my house earlier today. I have Bryan (01ws6er) and my brother in the car. As we are heading to get on the turnpike the road is one lane. Bryan spots an Orange Challenger two cars back. He ends up behind me and once the road splits into 2 lanes i pass two cars on the left and get infront of them to let the Challenger come up to my left.
I dropped to 2nd at around 50mph as i switched lanes. I expected the Challenger to line up next to me but nope, he attempts a flyby!!!
I noticed him pulling hard and trying to rip by me so I punch it. He had only gotten about a half a car on me with his flyby. From were I got on it, its a quarter mile or so to the turnpike entrance which banks off hard to the right.
I stopped him in his tracks. He didnt pull an inch from when I punched it, to about 110-115, in fact I was inching on him! We both shut down around the same time as I had to jump on my brakes to make this hard turn.
Heres the kicker... The car sounded mean and was loud as hell and get this... I had a Hennessey vinal on the front quarter panel! So was this really a Hennessey modded Challenger? On top of that the kid looked real young, probably daddies car. Either way it was a good run. Really lame that he tried to pull a fly by but it was nice to stop him
Wrap up... ran a new Challenger after he attempted a flyby, he gains half a car due to the flyby. I run that same distance while pulling slight before having to shut down at about 115.

OP, what mods do you have? Sounds right, bolt-on vs. stock if that is the case.

Red Tint Jewelcoat- 2008 Trailblazer SS
I haven't gotten to line up with one formally yet.
Although I saw one go 14.45 to my 11.92 at Bandimere a few weeks ago.

well, you know you're in a small town when.....you're minding your own business, driving the speed limit, 55 or so, you stop at a red light, and as soon as it turns green....you see this green skittle come flying by you...you think nothing of it. it's really too much to start trying to chase after them, wasting all that gas for nothing.... to only hear the next day "Hey man, i heard the So-so's Honda beat you off the line"....and you're thinking....ppl seriously can't believe this....do they? did they really think that was a race?

2016 Camaro SS - Summit- 2001 Trans Am WS6 - NBM
I know what you mean....I raced a kid in his Daddy's SRT-8 Charger, beat him hands down 7 times in a row...from every start speed you could think of.....and because there were no real witnesses, he goes and tells all his buddies he won......hehehe, so the other night I smoked him in front of EVERYONE...it was wonderful. (and before you start, Charger fans, this kid has NO IDEA how to drive a car....anyone else might have hung on a little, but not this kid....terrible driver...I beat him even when I completely missed 5th on a highway run...)
Oh, and nice Temple!! All the Challenger drivers around here are old men (like old Vette drivers)...no one wants a go...

They are heavy, plus with the big wheels have a lot of recipricating mass.
Stock for stock racing the R/T with any LS1 is like boxing against a guy with no arms. They dont stand a change. The SRT CAN be fast.
