Retrofitting the 98 PCV valve system!
So ive decided to finally do away with the shitty location of the 98 pcv valves. My housing has finally started to crumple so Im removing the housing all together and moving it down near the TB where it SHOULD be.. lol.
I have the truck/fixed hole pcv valve and i was thinking why not just get rid of the it and install a catch can and call it a day. The valve doesnt really restrict that much.. but do I need to keep that little restriction?
Sarge?

Unless you are running an SD tune you will have to run a PCV to the catch can. It will allow alot more airflow with out the pcv and will cause the car to Idle like shit and throw lean codes! ASK ME HOW I KNOW lol.
From the way sarge has his I did the same thing with one exception. In the Hose that goes to the top of the Catch can from the LS6 valley cover I added a cheapo autozone PCV Valve and that solved my problem. Do you plan on running the valve cover Breather as well?
here is my setup! the silver thing is the PCV valve from Auto Zone that i bought for 5 bucks!.

If you get a LS6 Valley System, you can cap both valve covers, correct?

Been there read that. Breather wont fit anymore with my current setup. I can disconnect the pcv valve and it doesnt really affect the idle that much at all. Unlike the rest of the years mine is a piece of shit to reach because its up on the valve cover and its degrading from the heat miles and years. Going to be running a catch can system eventually but for now im redoing it all using the brass fitting. hence retrofitting.

Exactly. My current setup doesnt allow breathers.(Strut tower brace is in the way) I have a whole damn collection of them. lol.
My lines are rotten and ive already got all the supplies i need minus the 2 dollar fitting for the pcv valve. If anyone has used the new style PCV valve they know it has almost no resistance on air flow. I wonder if the catch can alone will have enough air resistance to mimic the pcv valve.
