LED light bulbs
Has anyone tried any of the LED light bulbs for their turn signals? I know the front lights are a big hotspot and figured that replacing those might keep the lamps cool and be more effective. Curious if they work good as replacements for the front and any good/bad.
Example of one below.

Thanks,

I've thought about doing that as well. There was one that I saw that would be a constant white until you turn on the signal and it would blink amber. When I saw it, I couldn't spend $30 per bulb when I was having issues with corrosion and blowing bulbs. Now that I took care of that, I can't find the web page anymore.

that would be sweet, like doing the AUX fog light and led mod at the same time, if you do find that i would be interested.

Not sure. I just know that the turn signal has to flash amber in the front. Of course if you think about it. Not all vehicles have parking/daytime running lights

Well, I ordered a set of super white and amber of the type below after getting pissed this weekend. I had one of the filamints crap out and I didn't let the light cool enough before grabbing the bulb lol. That's something that happens once.

Guess that sounded funny with the previous posts. I bought two pair. One Amber and one Super White.

Gotta say, I just got them in and they look good. The super white looks sick in the turn signal spot at the front.
One problem though... Now my blinkers won't work. Does anyone know if there's something special you have to do to get them to flash?
There sight does quote: "3156 single contact is used for turn signals. 3157 dual contact is used for tail light/ brake light. 3157 replaces bulb number 3057 3155 3357 3457 4157". I bought the 3157, but thats what the replacement bulb should be for our front turn signals. Not sure if I got the wrong one or what. All of my other bulbs have always been 3157.

I guess I need a resistor or electronic flasher. I'll check into it and see what it takes to get these working.

Yeah, the leds don't draw enough current, so your car thinks you don't have bulbs. I added leds to my cadillac and had to get these:
Load Resistors

Go to Autozone and get the electronic flasher replacement and get rid of the mechanical flasher that's in there, you then won't need to use any load resistors. Once you replace that, just pop in your LED bulbs and your good to go.
The flasher is located in the lower half of the dash on the drivers side.
Take the panel below the steering wheel off. Once that is removed there will be a silver cylinder clipped about where your right knee would be if you were sitting in the car.

Is it the 3157 for our cars? I looked up the part number on Autozone and it shows 3457.
Just want to be certain I order the right one.

Red- 1998 WS6 Trans Am
i'd love to have the switchback amber/white led light but.....
i switched my socket to the round double contact socket when replaced original ones. tried standard top firing led turn sig lights today and they barely showed up at all in the housing. guess i need side firing also.
ohh yeah and they were from autozone and had "load resistors" and they failed to blink at all
