I can't imagine they would be allowed to perform the test without people knowing whats really going to happen. I think the media is is just filling us full of fear so we'll actually tune in.

a black hole is made when a star 5-10x times teh size of our sun burns up it's fuel... the gravity that keeps the fusion contained makes it collapse in to a condensed form... that is a black hole... the gravatational pull is so great that light can not escape it... that is why it looks black to us...

Sunset Orange- 2001 Z28
I just read a book about this called 'Into the Looking Glass' by John Ringo where they did something similar to this.
It blew up a Florida university and opened a bunch of gates to other worlds all over the place.
Eventually Aliens swarmed through the gates and the war began.
Good book.

well the amount of energy required to do that is huge... might be possible with what we are doing tomorrow... but the problem is that the energy needed to open a worm hole like that could also cause it to close... then there would be an large amount of radiation... so much that any thing that entered would die...

perfectly good waste of 10 billion dollars and if we don't see men coming out of the jungle today it did not happen 600 billion years ago or what ever the THEORY of evolution suggests. yes it is still a theory even though they were smart enough to get it in the text books. big bang what ever.

yes but it has been proven. and the thing that frustrates me more is that we spend lot's of money on things like this what about taking care of some imortant issues. not saying that they can't study and do this stuff but look at the amount of money spenet on this and what you could do to change peoples lives with 25% of that money.
