been there twice myself. yea yea i know. dont do it unless your ready, otherwise your just stupid. not a lot of people take marriage seriously anymore and treat it like its a game. i'm not gonna put myself through it anymore unless it's common law. thats the only way i can see myself being considered "married" again

No he shouldn't have gotten married but what a tool, he can't get over the whole "I don't believe in marriage thing" it's like he's religious about his anti religion. It's not like they've been married long enogh to even resent his wife, it's just being anal..

I mean you shouldn't get married if you don't want to but if you choose to then don't be such a tool just over the concept of the word, especially if she hasn't done anything to deserve it.

If EITHER party in a marriage feels pressured, the chances are the marriage will eventually fail. And before anyone says otherwise, yes, any marriage stands a good chance of failure, but the forced ones have an even higher rate of failure.

I've been married for twenty-four years. No one was pressured and we're still together. I base my opinion on that fact and what I see with many, many, others who have married since I've known, failing to stay married.

Being forced with eventually lead to resentment. Resentment will lead to a strained relationship. At that point, divorce is probably better than the marriage continuing.

If I wasn't clear, do NOT marry if you feel pressured to do so.

I think for once we agree on something

One of my buddys got married to a chick that he loved (but was not in love with) a few years ago even though he knew they were getting a million dollars as a wedding present he still didn't want to marry her and told her so, she still made him ( I mean convinced) to get married. Haven't heard from him since (mind you we've been friends since kids), I'm figuring I'll get a call when he gets a divorce.

Depending on how long yall have been together, tell her that you are already married. Marriage is just a piece of paper anyway. If you have been together for a long time, living together for a long time, then shit you have been married already but without the paper. If she wants a piece of paper and is going to be nuts about it, then she is not wife material anyway. Dump her ass.

True, but it is the same for the woman. We are responsible for half of the mans debt too. Now we are more likely in a court to get out of it, but either way once you have a ring on the finger and that paper you are screwed and the screwing stops.
