...edit: haven't seen the dark knight yet, but judging from batman begins, i'd probably stick to my vote.

Why not? They acknowledged that they failed and made an effort to fix what was broken.

For me, I have always liked Batman Returns. Nowadays that movie is a bit played out, so its Dark Knight for me.

Batman was fantastic, but I felt bored a lot. Especially when Vicky Vale was in the picture. However, once again, the Joker is what captivated the screen.

Returns was action packed throughout most of the movie. Selena actually becomes a villain...a fucking hot one, and who doesnt love Walken? Only thing that sucked were the one-liners.

Begins was dull to me. I cant watch it that many times and to me, that is what makes a movie. Replay Value. If you can get people to pay to see a movie theyve already seen, youve got yourself a blockbuster.

Forever and Robin were fucking HORRIBLE cuz of the fucking director. Its all his god damn fault. Lets kill him.

being that Bail kept changing his voice and talking out of the side of his mouth while in costume, i still give it to Keaton who simply spoke in a hushed whisper while batman.

i think the 1st batman was awesome and batman returns was pretty damn good as well, but they weren't as dark or moody as begins and the dark knight, which made those 2 movies my favorites. begins had kind of a lame character in the scarecrow but it had enough villians that came against bruce wayne and batman to make it a great movie. but after seeing the dark knight and and how badass heath ledger made the joker, taking it even further than it's ever gone before, this is my favorite. two-face comes along and plays a good role, the scarecrow gets his ass whipped in the beginning, he chases the lil asian guy down in hong kong, and the joker just makes everyone his pawn and does it so effortlessly that it's pure genius. dark knight gets my vote.

i just watched the original batman with keaton and nicholson again and i know i said it was awesome but, now, it just seems lame. it's good but i like the dark, moody, batman better. the tim burton movies were much better than forever and batman and robin, but they cant compare to the 2 new ones. nicholson does a good joker, but it's not the joker i'd wanna watch again and again. dancing to prince, that almost killed it for me. it was like pulling the panties off a hot chick and then getting punched in the face by the smell of a yeast infection. it's going good but why does it have to be ruined. heath played the best joker but you cant compare him to the others because they have all been different forms of the joker. the new one is completely insane and maniacal, and the older ones were crazy, but too comical.

i would say it's difficult to compare movies that are over 15 years apart side by side, man. You gotta go with what you remmeber your gut telling you when you left the theatre in 1989 after seeing it the first time. It made me wanna own a batmobile and swing through rooftops. Dark Night just made me say "fuck...now they're gonna make another one"
