The LS1.com guy is our own Stevie Ray oil guy I think, if so, he has a membership here too. Seafoam, Marvel Mystery Oil, etc, all these solutions have been around for eons. It used to be called "top oil".

Hey I now use it in everything; GTO, Dodge Ram, push mower and lawn mower. I have an old Craftsman GT10 that was stumbling and stalling all the (got it for free because of how bad it ran) burnt through two tanks of gas in it yesterday cutting the grass and now the rpms are smoothing out.
I didn't feel a difference in anything else yet, but the way the old lawnmower runs now has me sold on the two stroke oil

I found this link up over at Fuel Slut from Mrr23 and have decided to give it a go in my '07 Silverado

Haven't posted up over here in ages but I'm really glad to see some quality tech still going on. I am kind of limited on internet access so it might be a while until I check back but I'll definitely let you know my results. I already track my MPG and unfortunately around 8k miles I started to see a drop... nothing major but in the city I am down 1mpg with no change in driving habits... argh!

How often were your changing your motor oil in the test cars before you started the tests? Now when testing how often are you changing your motor oil?

sarge, i am on board with this experiment / method, i went to wally world yesterday and bought the gallon jug for 9.88 or what ever, put it in both my cars, havent knoticed nething yet after driving each 50 miles or so, but i'm sure in the long run i will notice some improvement

Hello all I'm fairly new to the site but since joining in early July I've spent many hours reading and posting a few questions. After reading this entire thread I decided to try some of my Evinrude biodegradable syn. outboard oil TC-W3 in my old worn out daily driver, 96 Escort with over 200k on the odometer. Next time I fill up my 99 SS I plan on putting A couple ounces in that also. And another question, that might be better asked in a new thread, Is Castrol Syntech good or bad for my motor? 1999-SS with 79k on it now. I bought it a couple of years ago. Just a weekend toy, no mods yet. The car runs fine. I store the car for six months (winter) but put fresh gas and stabilizer (c-foam) in the tank before storing it. During those six months I start the car and let it run for about 15 or 20 minutes once a month, and it always starts up and runs great. Castrol syntech is the oil That I have used so far, I have put less than 5000 miles on the car but I have changed the oil and filter twice. So what do you guys think of this practice? All advice,opinions and comments are welcome. Thanks...

Ok Sarge It's been almost five tanks in my old 235000 mile Talon. So this is what I've noticed so far. It does idle smother and the accelleration seems to be a bit better that was until the check engine light came on. But don't fret the light was not from the oil. This car about every month or so throws the light on for the EGR circut. anyways I do feel that it has made a justifiable differance overall. I have yet to burn the first tankfull in the SS I just hope I get the gains on it like the Talon. Oh yea and the Talon has picked up around one mile per gallon city.

Im sure you will get 50 different opinions on castrol, but Ive used it over the years in several cars, trucks, and lawn equipment and can't complain. In my goat I use mobil1 syn.....
just think of this, all of those oil companies spend millions of dollars a year to try and bring the best products to the shelf so we will keep buying them....and if they didnt we would reach to the left or right of them and buy the competitor.... just some food for thought.

Hello everybody, just a couple of lines to share my experiences with 2 stroke oil mix in my cars:

- VW polo 1.4 16v 100bhp, I have just started using the mix in this car but the beneficts are evident. Smoother idle and stronger starts. As somebody said some light pinging it used to suffer is gone now.

- Peugeot 307 1.6 HDI 110 bhp (turbo diesel): People in Europe have been using 2 stroke in turbo diesels some time. Again, good results: Smoother engine & idle.

Overall, I am very happy with the results, I will continue using the 2T mix periodically in the two cars.

Just a note: I am not using marine 2T oil but full synthetic Castrol 2T motorcycle with JASO FD and ISO EGD certifications.

Hey man...welcome to the site...most of the test mules ( <.05) zero dilution from fuel...and in the cars that do have fuel dilution we saw even lower wear metals...so the two stroke oill has no bearing at all on the UOA of your particular choice....frankly I have had the lowest wear metals ever after I started the 2stroke oil....but I attribute the lower wear metals to the new Shaeffers Series 7000 10-30 more than anything else.....I will say I have never seen a "dirty" 2 stroke motor....most are cleaner than a babies ass....this is directly attributed to the cleaners in the add packs of a TC W3 oil....it cleans plugs/injectors/ring packs/valves and gives you a cleaner, lubricated system.....bottom line is there should be no change in your OCI's from the 2stroke project nor going forward on a long term basis. I attach my latest UOA from Blackstone for your eye digestion Now many argue my fuel dilution being the lowest ever can be attributed ( partially anyway) to tighter cleaner ring packs disallowing any blow by.....but you can reach your own conclusions....

Castrol Syntex is a good oil. Pennzoil Platinum is returning much lower wear metals and TBN retention that Castrol Syntex and is cheaper....but your not hurting anything at all by running it...just paying more for a little less oil performance.

We really have seen the true benefits after multiple tanks for sure. And the results obviously vary from car to car mainly based on the condition of the injectors/carb/plugs/fuel system prior to the test beginning. Thanks for posting up.

If you can get the TC W3 rated 2stroke oil. It is ashless.

Yeah.....I must have pulled the plugs 50 times before I was satisfied....fact of the matter is 2 stroke oil is designed to burn cleanly....it cleans the upper cylinder and the ring packs......thank you for posting up your experience so far....I will tell you my Silverado just keeps getting better and better...I am on like tank#30 and have gone from a consistent 17.3mpg to over 19mpg...drive the same road same way everyday....all for a couple of bucks a quart I'll also go on the record of saying the GTO starts much easier now......runs like a stripped ass ape...but she definetly starts easier....cant say anything about the idle with that monster cam

so im wondering what effect it will have on my boosted Goat? cooling and cleaning effects?
