This is NOT a continuation of the girl with a black guy thread, but I have to resort to some details from it.

That girl I described from the other thread has gone away for the summer. I met her at the end of the school year, we hit it off, and then she up and leaves. Nothing was established long enough to invoke a mutually understood monogomous relationship. So, I asked if we were bfriend and gfriend. She said she didnt want that. Along with a lot of other increbilities that made me think she was a liar (plus the token), I decided that Ill just go out with someone else that was interested.

With that, lets start THIS thread.

This new girl is amazing. No games, no lies, and no defense to soft stuff. Meaning, I can say nice/sweet things to her and she never, ever gets creeped out nor does she think something negative about it. Sex is great and she thinks I am the hottest thing since Satan took a shit on his own grill.

However, she got promoted and had to move ~5 hours away from me. It was established...ugh....that we love each other. Ok yeah, I am in love.

Not to explain in detail how I feel, lets just say I dont want to lose her nor do I ever want this to fade. I am in college at UF and I have another year to go. I am 28 so I started college late. If I leave college, even in love, I feel like I will fucking hate myself later.

My question is, 5 hours isnt that long, but its not short, so has anyone had situations like this and had success? How about failures?

I haven't had anyluck in my attempts. Some friends of mine are 10 hours apart and have been together a few years now. Not sure if it helps any

Very true. Im engaged to get married in November and my fiance lived 3 hours (one way) from me. I drove down on friday nights and home on sundays. Did that for a couple of months until we both knew it was meant to be, so I moved down, moved in, and a couple of months later popped the question. Shes the greatest partner Ive ever been with, in ANY sense of the word. Id cut my heart out with a spoon and give it to her, and she'd do the same.

Stay in school.

My girlfriend and I met in high school, and had been together for a year until I went to college (she still had another year of high school when I left), which was 3.5 hours away. We stayed together and she graduated, but got into a different (Read: better) school than mine, and we were still 3.5 hours apart. This summer I applied for transfer and got accepted at her college, and will be able to see each other everyday.

We've been together for exactly three years and one month, and we've technically spent more time away than together, as we we're only nearby that year in high school, the summers, and the weekends that I could drive up (Given my thirdgen was working and I could afford gas).

Not to mention my girlfriend's dorm wasn't co-ed, so I was sneaking around all the time and had no where to shower; that was a pain in the ass

Basically if you love the girl, it's definately doable. Sometimes it sucks, but it's worth it, especially if it means you staying in school. Relationships come and go but the degree you will earn will stay with you forever.
