not nessessarily... look at a top fuel... the hit near 300 mph in a 1/4 mile...

i tried to hit top speed in my t/a two weeks after i bought it... i was probably around 150mph or so when i seen the cop (last time i looked at the speed i was just over 140)... iwas on the high way for a good while...
