Will check all the heat shields today when I install my new trailer hitch that came yesterday. I wish it would have been a deer and totalled the damn thing. I'd take my insurance payout and get a corvette. I want to total it in the end one way or another anyways. I am the only one around with car and it sticks out. People see it in a parking lot and know it's me, or see me on the highway and know right away it is me comming. I don't want someone else driving it around. Hopefully get the hitch on today and do the wiring for it tommorrow. Then transmission mechanic on monday. Then trailer shopping tuesday and to the motocross track on friday/saturday/sunday. My long time familys mechanic turned me down. He said he no longer does manuals because it is to expensive. He said no aftermarket companies really make internals for stock trannys at an affordable rate. So I was worried before it is going to cost me. Now I am really worried. I know it 1984 my dad got a brand new rebuilt transmission entire thing, and he gave the mechanic his, and it only cost 400. Hopefully we can keep it in that limit =)

I found the rattle spaz, I checked all heat shields and I was going nuts couldn't find it. I jacked up the rear end and put it in gear and took it up to 50 and let it slow back down. Did not rattle, drove down the street, rattled. I checked every damn thing and finally finally I found it. The exhaust got moved to the side far enough the u-joint is hitting it. Didn't do much damage luckily.

Add:
Hand trucks that fell off a Coke truck on the interstate. Ran all over them and then finally went over/by/through them as they slid out the side.
