I think having a push start would be pretty sick to have in any car

How much are they asking? I looked at an LT1 there before I got my LS1 and I was not impressed. The engine light came on while I was test driving it and I told them I wasn't interested but they wouldn't leave it alone and kept bugging me. They kept trying to convince me there was nothing wrong with the car.

I had planned on doing this pretty soon. I have something similar on my 69 C10 (MUCH easier to install one on). The button is from a S2000 by the way.You can get a similar one from:

Silver- 2000 Camaro SS
maybe im the only one that doesnt like it
just seems like a waste of money and time for it. remote starts one thing cuz it increases convenience... push start just seems pointless to me. no offense to all u guys!

you still have to have the ignition on with a push start. it looks cool. toyota trucks used to have them. but you dont have to press the clutch to start the car. its a good way to break a starter

u need to get a basic relay first best buy sells them out of their install bay
the relay has 5 pins on it. 2 for the coil and 3 for the power source that is getting controlled by the relay. What you are going to do is take a constant power source to the pushbutton, then from the pushbutton to pin 85 on the relay. Then take pin 86 of the relay to ground. Now you need to take a constant power source, probably at least a 10 guage wire, to pin 30 on the relay, then go from pin 87 of the relay to the starter wire of the vehicle. This should do it for ya. Pin 87A won't be used because it is the normally closed contact.
hope this helps im a little rusty on my wiring stuff been outta the car audio game for about 2 yrs..

oh and i almost forgot because they keys are chipped for most if not all of these cars you might still need to have the key in the ignition..not sure my roommates s10 was ancient and basic as hell
personally i wouldnt do it on our cars (f bodies)...that is just me..
