Hugger Orange/W stripes- 1999 Z28 M6
Lightning strikes once, but multiple problems.
It got HOT here real quick. Been 96° since Tuesday and will continue through the weekend....at least. I cut my grass (two acres or so) yesterday and went inside to enjoy a little AC and a cold beer. Didn't happen. The damned AC gave out while I was cutting grass. It's only about 7-8 years old. Ironically, I had called my HVAC guy a couple of days ago to come give it a check up and he was gonna be out to my house by the end of the week. I called him about 8:30 last night and updated him. By 8:30 this morning, he had it back up and running. Total bill was only $113 (capacitor?), freon good to go, etc. I think I just dodged a bullet!!! I maybe slept two hours last night. We have thirteen ceiling fans in our house, and we had all of 'em on last night with the windows open. Our bedroom is upstairs and it was even warmer up there, but the temp in the house last night started off at 84° and only managed to get down to 81° when I left at 0615. Outside temp was 72.8°.
This was the FOURTH electronic problem I've had since our power got knocked out by a lightning strike two weeks ago. I lost a DirecTV receiver, a battery charger in the garage, the garage door opener (circuit board went out), and now the AC. The power company had to come in and replace transformers on my line and further up, so we figured the lightning hit the line.
I'm beginning to think that lightning hit the HOUSE. We got in from the beach about thirty minutes AFTER the storm came through.
