thanks sarge, that link helped a ton. I'm gonna fire it up this week and mess around with it...... I wanna go fishin'. After reading there a few minutes I'm kinda doubting myself now. I don't remember if it was a constant horn or a intermittent horn. One is for overheating and the other is for oil. I just assumed it was an oil warning. I'm gonna fire it up this week and see if I can get it to do it and go from there. It would make more sense that it'd be over temp if it's doing it at idle and not an oil problem. Both times it done it the boat was at idle. Once in the back yard with the muffs on and the other time I was putting through a cove back to the dock. I just don't remember if the horn was constant or not.

might be pointless...... I can't even get the bastard to start. The carbs need rebuilt and it's like this the first start every year. Pain in the butt to get running the first time then it starts perfect the rest of the year. I'm about to just light a match and burn it.

Not to state the obvious but when you load the boat on the trailer you should disconnect the fuel line and run the carbs dry. Same with weedeaters. Make it a habit and when you get ready to run them they start. I learned this the hard way.
