Oh I understand that its all about the money and now that they are being politcally correct they got big tobacco out, alcohol will probably go next. But thats beside the point. DE never even raced in a Nextel or Sprint race so how can he be a champion in those series. He is a seven time WINSTON CUP champ.

Because a name doesn't change the sport. That is just a technicality

It is still NASCAR.

It is the same as DE Jr going from Bud car to Mountain DEW. Doesn't change anything - He still races in the same sport.

i heard they went very aggressive to see how it would hold up for the 600.

he was like a cannon till the motor went, he had 4 seconds on everyone else. and his times were getting faster. tony stewart had the same problem during practice. and they adjusted his car and he finished 5th i believe.

you fail to mention that he sat on the pole, led every single lap of heat 1, and was 2 seconds out in front of the pack when he bent a valve. He also made $199k which was more than the 3rd place guy made.......not a bad night for a non-points race I'd say.

does have a point .. If the Name keeps changeing I think the stats should too.. Dont see why they cant say NASCAR CUP SERIES sponsored by blah blah ...

I think it is different now .. Winston had the name for a long time .. But if it is going to change every few years it should be Cup series first ..

They were tryin stuff out for next weekend. And maybe you missed the race up to that point? Oh and he is also leading the points...just in case you missed that.

^ Not to me it didnt. Nascar is so good at throwing "debris cautions" and they missed the chance to make a real shootout. I also think it sucks that KB blew up. He coulda stunk up the show bigtime.
By the way. we still call it what it is, The Winston.

Well its not the Winston because I liked the way they used to do it .. I also thought the LCQ or whatever they called it , was a better race than the actual big race .. if they had 2 more laps Sam would have won that one ..
