Yea I get free tickets to the Brickyard every year so that is my dose of Nascar every year. I would rather spend the night racing then watchin them lol. Especially for the price of a ticket. If you want to go to a race and you have never been you have to go to the Bristol night race.

its his dirt team he races for and the chilli bowl is sponsored by his foundation isn't it? does he win? did he ever win in an open wheel car at Indy? did he ever have an Indy car win at all? Gordon went right to stock cars at like 19 years old. id rather be really good at one thing than mediocre at many

Mediocre?? Lol he has USAC championships!!! Including winning the USAC triple crown. And he has a bunch of different sprint car and midget teams yes. Some of the people in Nascar today used to race for him. He won the Chili Bowl TWICE!! No he hasn't won the Indy 500..but hell that is a pretty elite group...I would like to see other stock car guys go there and be as competitive as him.

dont know How my Busch and Jr thread got off on Stewart is the best driver out ther , but glad its still going . Stewart does have lots of talent , more than I wish he did . but cant stand the guy .. I am also thinking that Sam Hornish is a canidate for best driver .. I think the open wheel guys shoud drive in the Busche series a few years before going to Cup because the cars are so diffeent ..
teams have so much to do with if you win races or not , there is so many good teams today I wish Cup would go back to a time where they didnt have so many rules and such and just let the guys race ...

Yea they should spend some time learning how to drive a stock car before going right to cup. I believe it would help them a lot. Driving a stock car is a lot different then open-wheel. They are very talented drivers just need some seat time to get used to the weight and everything of those cars.

Well lets see, he never won an Indy 500 but he did win IRL rookie of the year in 1996 and then IRL Championship in 1997. Oh, dont forget 1995 USAC triple crown winner and then Nascar rookie of the year in 1999. So to answer a dumb question, yes Tony Stewart has won open wheel races. Oh yeah, the Chili Bowl is held at his track.

Your right about everything but one thing...the Chili Bowl isn't held at his track...it's in Tulsa Oklahoma at an indoor building called the Expo Building. We run a race there in early January every year. It's right by the State Fairgrounds. Tony Stewart doesn't own it or even part of it. However he does now own Eldora Speedway in Ohio which is way there run the Kings Royal and a few other big sprint car and midget races.

So would I I met him a couple times at the Rumble in the Dome in Indy when we were both racing there. He is really cool...doesn't act like a superstar he acts like he is just another person at the track.

Wow, they had a truck race last night and KB didnt win. I guess he was tired from winning the pole for the Winston. (All Star Race for you newbies)

A little off subject but this pisses me to no end. They keep changing sponsors and names, fine. But give credit were its due. They say Dale Earnhart 7 time sprint cup champion, Mark Martin most wins in the nationwide series, etc. That pisses me off bad.

get used to it. Now that the cell phone companies are in on it that name is gonna constantly change. Winston sponsored it for almost 35 years. It's all about who bids the most...not consistency. I'd like to see at least a more stable company sponsor the cup. Coca-Cola or budweiser would be nice to see. They've been involved with nascar for years.
