Half the black album was kinda poopy. Anything after that sucks, James ruined it by yodeling songs thinking that hes singing.

this time they are away from producer Bob Rock who did the Loads and the last piece of crap, and now using Rick Rubin whose produced Slayer, system of a down etc. I think its going to be pretty heavy because they have commented on the likes of master of puppets sounding like it plus Rick Rubin isnt as gay as bob rock. But Lars is still a little gnome.

I've been a metallica fan for over 20 years. That last album pissed me off so bad that there's no way in hell I'm buying a metallica album without hearing it first. Lars better rethink his battle with piracy and let a few songs get out on limewire or their sales will suck more than their last album if that's possible. Damn, now I'm all pissed off about that last pile of crap album again. WTF was that supposed to be?

I have also been a Metallica fan for over 20 years. The Black album wasn't nearly as horrible as the crap that came after it, but when compared to the 4 albums before it which were each masterpieces it sucked IMO. St. Anger was an atrocity. Sounded like Lars was banging on a trashcan the entire album. As for the talk of the new album being heavier, that is waht they said the last time and we all know what happened. A while back Metallica had a new song floating around that they were just calling "new song". It was supposed to be heavy like the old Metallica. It was some of the worst shit I have ever heard. I still love Metallica due to the early stuff, but I have absolutely no faith that they will ever release anything decent anymore. Did anyone see that stupid ass movie they put out? Lars and James sounded like two whiney little bitches.

I've been a Metallica fan for years. They haven't had a truly good album since and justice for all. teh black album had 2-3 good songs after that the rest sucked. I hate it when good bands sell out.

I like them all. It just depends what type of mood I am in. Though I have not listened to the black album in years. IMO it is the worst one. I like load and reload they have some great lyrics.

If it wern't for the drums in st.anger I would have loved that album. If you ever come across them playing those songs with the snare back on the drums, they are rather kick ass.

The reason why Metallica sucked from Black Album on was that they got big, and met a certain someone named Bob Cock, I mean Rock and he commercialized them. Bob Rock started thinking he was like in the band, you can see it in the movie they made. St. Anger is not only the worst album metallica ever made, but probably the worst metal album in the last 20 yrs. By anyone "known" anyways. The lyrics were terrible, it had no sense of rythym or melody, no buildup and James sounded like pure shit. The trash can drum sound was an interesting concept for perhaps parts of one or 2 songs, but it was the entire fucking album. I'm with Orion, jus thinking about that piece of garbage is pissing me off right now. I must blast And Justice now...........

to each his own man. The meaning in the loads and st anger were nonexistant in my ears. The albums from the 80s were soooo much deeper. "my lifestyle determines my deathstyle" yes, this was on st. anger. Did they talk to some 15 yr old stoner for that lick?

I know I would change my sound after a while. the first 4 albums sounded the same. Good don't get me wrong, but they had to be getting bored of it. Every one changes with time, no matter how much you want to deny it.
