Constitutional Law training for all LEO's. It is up to the victim to seek out the warrant and then an arrest can be made.

He sounds like he told you the truth. That is, if this really happened. The legal system is what it is. If your b/f was assaulted, didn't defend himself, incurred injury, and did NOT seek out a warrant, then his option is this:

Chalk it up to experience and quit whining.
In some states, such as MN, the presumed victim needs to call the cops and file the complaint (which was done). It is the cop's job to file the warrant.

Yes the thread maybe should have been called SOME cop's are rediculouse but when you're venting that's just symentics.

well..this is weird..most people dont stop under a bridge for anything but..taking shelter (from a tornado ..or bad weather)..to score a fix...or because there is a stop light...that about sums it up..as jad said..it would have been better to park it out in open area..parking it under a bridge to cool down is like parking your car in a box ..stale warmer air is there...warm air rises..with a bridge on top of you..well you get the point.

Not in all states, I've been accused and served a ticket by an officer before based on things he was told that happened. It was BS and didn't stand up in court but then I didn't admit to it at the time the cop showed up.

actually being under bridges is a great place to escape lava from the near by volcano... just watch out for the sharks... some times they explode to attract killer bees...

If you won't take the time to "file" anything, then nothing will be done. Courts work on testimony. No involvement by victims and/or witnesses and the presumption of innocence wins out 100% of the time.

That is exactly why it is prudent for the system to require the victim to seek out the warrant. It can prosecute the cases where the "victim" cares enough to get involved.

haha.No mine's fine, he may need to eat some cheeseburgers but he's big enough. It actually really suprised me becuase anderson cops are the kind that will nail you for anything and everything, you know? Like when I first moved here we went to go get some wendy's and it was closed and my boyfriend didn't use his blinker to get over so this lady cop pulled us over and insisted we had weed in the car and said she was bringing the dogs and verything and we were like okay whatever becuase we didn't have any and then she asked me for my idea and i didn't have it becuase i was in my p.j's and didn't have my purse and she was just like your a liar and stuff and she was like did you know there's a curfew here and i was like no i just moved here and she's like heard that one before and i was like haha okay and she handcuffed me and made me sit in the back of her cruiser and made my mommy come pick me up. also might i add when she pulled up my social it said pensacola,fl so haa. but ever since then she's been out to get me,haha.

Maybe so as I've never worked in MN., but I never included felonies in that remark which IS normally when the officer gets the warrant.

I agree that sometimes semantics are misunderstood, but in this specific case I have doubts about that being the case.
