I'm gonna buy new pushrods and valve springs for my LT1.. but want to make sure they go with my 1.6 crane cam roller rockers.. and I can't tell what I need.. anyone have ideas?

as far as springs go, i'd go with a nice dual spring, and ask comp cams which ones they recommend at what height for the cam you are using. Valve train can become a pain in the ass.

Guideplates?
Umm.. no? Ok, I have no idea.. lol. All I know is I have a set of used pushrods from an unknown LT1, everyone said toss them and get new.. and the engine had 160k on it.. so I was told to replace the valve springs too... especially since I bought 1.6 roller rockers for it.. I just dont know what to get...

are you changing the cam?
If you aren't use a dual spring with the same installed height that is stock on an lt1 head. if you dont know if you have guideplates it means you dont. A guideplate goes right where your rocker studs are and its supposed to stabilize your pushrods. Because they are metal they scrape the pushrods. Hence needing hardened ones.

Reason I say go with a double spring is if you decide to go with a cam at some point, then you will have a spring more capable of handling it. Having to change valvesprings is a pain in the ass with the engine in car.

You might not have to deviate from stock pushrod length with those rockers. What is the stock ratio? 1.5?

There will be a FULL rebuild with a turbo in the somewhat near future.. but now and then the engine will be out of the car. And I've done it on an LS1 in the car a couple weeks ago.. great learning experience. And yes, I believe that 1.5 is the stock ratio. Right now I want what will work well with what I have right now.. knowing that I will be replacing them at a later date when I do a good rebuild. Just need the car running, but everyone has said they wouldn't use the used rods and springs...

Nice.
What kind of car guy doesn't go through the skinning of knuckles ritual of installing their own headers???
