The 20 round mag was purchased because I carried. Most likely I won't need it for home defense. But I would rather have more ammo than run out.

Sure you can practice, but its totally different when there is a threat in your home with a weapon. Possibly shooting at you.
Remember, paper targets don't shoot back.

My guess is you have never carried and never been in a high stress situation. Especially under fire.

in my kenpo class we were taught that with in 21 feet you can disarm some one with a gun...

no its not, he said it started out as a bushmaster and shot the .223, but he converted it to shoot the 9mm
