It is not a male/ female thing. If you want to be committed in a relationship you don't screw other people it is plain and simple communication. If I wanted an open relationship where I could bang anyone I want and still have an "emotional" connection with another person I could. As long as ALL parties agree to that then fine go ahead.
I think the problem here is lack of communication in relationships. If you can't tell someone your exact thoughts/feelings/needs/wants etc you shouldn't be in a RELATIONSHIP with that person. If you aren't OK with the dude seeing his ex tell him straight up. If he continues to do it tell himhit the road.

I agree. But why wouldn't you just try to kill two birds with one stone? Find someone who is great in bed and love them. It makes it much more simple, I would think. I could never forgive my girl for cheating which is why I left my wife of 11 years and am now in the middle of a divorce. Maybe I have a little different thinking than the average male but sex to me is an emotional thing. Of course its all about the passion but I've had more than enough of the one night stands scene. Sex is much better with someone you care about. Just make sure that person isn't repressed and is open to spicing it up when things become mundane. Communication is key. Maybe I'm just getting old but, Ash, drop him. He's either cheating, thinking there maybe a possibility of hooking up, or is spineless and trying to move on. I know you don't know me, but I've seen pics of you here and there and you are gorgeous. You could have your pic of most any man. This time pick outside your norm.

I've only seen far away pics of her so I can't say whether she's hot or not...but it's obvious she has self esteem issues. So even if she is hot she'll have problems finding a decent guy....douchebags flock to good looking girls with issues. They're easy prey and for most douches it's the only hot ass they can get. The chics believe it's all they deserve and they eat it up..

triple-black- 2000 CamaroSS convertible
your statement starts with the assumption that if he would want to be with the present girl, he wouldn't invite the ex.
I personally think that both are irrelevant... no connection between both.
Even if they had history, they are adults and both know of the present situation.
In the end, it's about trusting your partner... and it seems that the partner is confident on himself anyways... now my question is why isn't this girl confident on him ? Is she afraid of him cheating ? any basis to think that way ?
chances are "probably not!"
I personally think that the present girl has security issues.
love is about giving, trusting... not just feel loved.

that is true too and should be discussed between the two that are dating.
Some couples:
-have sex only with eachother
-some are open and keep love and sex seperate
-some allow it, only if both are present and its a 3 way
its all about establishing respects and boundries

"If you wanted to be with that girl, would you invite your ex girlfriend to hang out and "be alone" for an hour? I think the answer is SSSSOOOO obvious but id love to hear what yall have to say..."
So is "be alone" his words or yours? Because if he said I need to be alone with my ex for an hour then yeah dump him. But if he just said he wants to hang out with a friend who happens to be a girl for a while then I see no problem. Although I'd be interested to know why he and the ex broke up, both for trust reasons and also to find out whats comming your way down the road. But the fact they still retained friendship post break-up shows he is a nice enough guy to work it out.

I think its understandable. Your exs know more about you/them than a lot of other people. I know when a friends of ours died last year i drove a few states to pick up a ex for a funeral, plus she stayed at my house for a few days.

I think just about every guy on the planet would like one last shot at an ex. If nothing else than to just get even.
