    if your gonna put clear on that kills the point of puttin satin on it. you might as well put on a base coat of black then clear. you can make clear have the desired shine by various stages of wet sanding and buffing compounds (a satin finish could prob be made with 1500 or 2000 grit paper). . . . but thats a lot of work to get it just right especially if you don't have much experience with it. . . just go satin no clear

    on my white ta i went with satin black as the gloss just tended to stick out on the lighter color cars IMO. Now on my buddies maple red ta he went gloss black and it looks killer on the dark color. My buddy that did gunmetal just looks out of place on his car. His ca is electric blue. So different strokes different folks.

    I shot mine myself using a single stage urethane enamel. 3 coats with a 10 minute flash in between, worked out fantastic,
