Yea i thought the GM side of things were under-represented, lol i did rember something else funny, this guy evidently rented this yellow lambo and got out on the strip and got on it up to the upper RPM's and let off the gas, well i now know its a manual, cuz when he let off its bogged it way down and his foot evidently hit the gas and he began to buck down the strip. i couldnt stop from laughing, BTW somones got a nice black 4th gen trans am with a sick sounding exhaust. Makes me wonder we have anyone on here who lives in Vegas?

Yeah, there's a few of us that live in Vegas. Most of us locals don't go to the Strip much. Most of the people driving around in exotics are tourists and don't know how to drive them.
There are also a few riced out F bodies in Vegas that make me weep. A V6 'maro with a mongo wing and a coffee can sticking out the ass. Not to mention 80 HP worth of stickers.

I go to Vegas at least twice a year. I have always stayed at the MGM Grand. IF you plan on going back some other time I do recommend you get the slot cards. I got one the first time we went. The first trip was the most expensive for me. I would say it cost me around 480 for a room and round trip air. Since the card I do not pay for rooms I get complimentary rooms at any Mirage casinos. Like MGM,NY NY, Billagio, Monte Carlo, etc.
If you know when your going, the best advise I can give you right now is NOT TO BOOK ANYTHING YET. It is always more expensive to book this far ahead of time. Always start looking when you are about 2 or 3 months from going. You will see a big difference in price. For your first trip I would suggest travelocity.com they can book you your room and flight at a real nice price.
You do not need to rental a car. I have NEVER rented a car. There is a monorail along the back side of the MGM that will pretty much take you all the way from the south strip to the north part of the strip and every where in between. Cost is like $9.00 for a 24 hour pass. If you decide to go downtown it will cost you about $20 bucks in a cab, with 4 people in one comes out to $5 buck each.
One thing to try is the Fat Tues Day at the MGM. This is a huge margarita mix that will get you drunk by the time you are half way. It is a tradition for us to get one very time we go. A good place to go is the Belagio at night to see tha water show, plays about every 15 minutes. Then across the street is the Paris hotel, for like $10 buck you can go up the Eiffle Tower and see all of Veags. The NY NY has a roller coaster that I have yet to get on ( I dont do hieghts).
Oh but most importantly TAKE A GOOD PAIR OF WALKING SHOES This is no joke. You will be walking a lot and dress shoes will kill you feet. I know. First trip I had to buy some shoes there. If you have any questions post them up I will be glad to answer them if I can.

The water show was sweet i thought, the roller coaster was kick ass, but i like roller coasters. What got me were the rides on the top of the stratousphere (sp.) i dont have a problem with heights and that scared the hell outa me. I think for about the same money, the strat. was a better view than the eiffel tower was. Lots of fun tho, and +1 on the good shoes i bought a pair on the second day cuz mine sucked.

Thanks for all the info. I finally got around to checking out the places suggested & some are insane (MGM says $500+ for 2 nights!) and the rest are still pricey to me, but I'm frugal.

The wife's sister is staying at the Hard Rock out there starting tomorrow.
I guess they are going round trip for under $300 I guess. Although some of it is comp'd time from a previous trip.
