For all you web designers.... what do you recommend>?

Well I workout at a local gym, and the owner asked me if I could make him another website basically following the following guidelines:

Not dark... not using many of the black/red colors (my favorites to use)
Not too flashy w/ flash animation etc (I love using flash doH!)
Warm and welcoming, he said he'd rather attract mothers of kids than the pro fighters
Easy for a grandma to navigate
Hard for me to pick warm colors without getting dark? And not too bright either?

So what I did was use a fixed pane on the side and the website would move... what do you guys think? Obviously many pictures need to be taken, so I can make a 3d virtual tour of the gym, and add trainer/fighter bio/profiles but it's kinda the idea

www.theboxingzone.tk

the original website is

www.theboxingzone.com

what colors should I use? What are good 3d virtual tour programs? Im use to using flash for making videos and stuff... what do you guys recommend? I use swish a lot also...
I've helped with websites like this one
but he says it's too dark, and he feels it would scare away the moms and just attract men/boys who want to fight (not as much $$ as the moms w/ millions of kids)

Thanks guys ! Be nice... im just a computer tech who does some web design on the side thanks !

I like yellow, gray combo with a bit of red. gray background, some text in yellow and a few
details in red.

also black background and white text sometimes used...

I think women would like the red and white combo, maybe with a touch of blue.

but most of the web applications I worked on are on white background/canvas. intranet apps mostly. my 2 cents.

I'll see if I can dig out some old projects. I need to catalog stuff better.
