knocking noise?
Ive got a 01 firehawk and have a knocking noise under my car. Something is moving or bumping under my car. Ive taken it to numerous places but no seems to know what it is. the noise is behind me and i thought it might be my driveshaft but it looks fine. Ive got a 12 bolt rearend and all the sub frame connectors. Any ideas?

mine does that as well. i started a thread about it and got no real answers. i was told to check the exaust, but i know thats not it. does it sound like the spring is not set on it's perch right, so when you hit a bump there's a loud pop?

yea people told me it might be my exhaust as well since i have an electric cutout. but i dont think its it . The knocking is real consistent. i dont evan have to hit a bump for it to do it. if the road isnt paved right it will do. it seems like it does more when i put it in nuetral.

no it stays the same. Sometimes when i shift at higher rpms i dont hear it but that could be cause my car is getting louder. It does it all the time when i driving around it doesnt evan have to be a bump, if the pavement is unevan you hear dump, dump, dump,. It seems like its worse when i put it in nuetral, just rolling to a stop. The noise is like right behind my elbow but i cant pin point it .

i have a knocking noise but its just worn lifters with the combo of an aluminum block, drove me crazy and had me worried but i talked to a shop that specializes in F bodies and they said it was normal, the volume changes on my noise tho sometimes louder than others...does it make the noise in park?

No this has nothing to do with my engine. its under the car and when i say knocking i mean it sounds like someone is knocking on your door exect under the car. like below my elbow into the back seat. You can actually feel the bump in the car.

might be some slack in the drive shaft or maybe your torque arm is loose. my torque arm loosened on me and it made a knocking/banging sound. but that was only when i let off the gas or went into a turn with no gas

My '00 WS6 does the same thing. Only my knocking sounds like it's coming from somewhere near the rear passenger side axel area. I've read a few threads about the noise, but no one's ever pin pointed it. It's not my hatch, spare tire, springs, or shock. I've been up under the car numerous time tightening down anything I can tighten. Nada...

Try checking the transmission mount, its a rubber part thats right at the end of the transmission, right where your elbow is, perhaps that part is worn out and needs to be replaced. Easy to find part too. It might have cracked or something and so that bump is ur tranny moving around there. Hope this helps.
"Well, he’s kind of had it in for me ever since I accidentally ran over his dog. Actually, replace “accidentally” with “repeatedly” and replace “dog” with “son.”

Yup... Suspension was fully loaded when tightening down LCAs. I'm gonna check the transmission mount as was mentioned, but I don't hold out much hope.
I did read in a post once that the Torsen diffs have a tendency to make this light tapping kind of sound. The post also said that there wasn't anything you could do about it and it wasn't known to cause any problems.
