    Torque

I talked with UMI and they said that on my generation (they are 4 yrs old) after a certain amount of torque load it can snap at that seem. Simple fix = weld them in. So for now I took them off till I can get my hands on a welder. I gotta wonder in that I'm glad it happen now under street tires and not under slicks. It would have seriously f@#k up some stuff if it had.

If the day comes I get brave enough to hook up nitrous I think I'm going to have to launch in 2nd gear on slicks.

    C) by the time I buy, and do whatever I have to do to an iron block (repeat after me: "crapshoot"), it'd be pretty close to what a resleeve and new pistons would be anyways
    D) I am not interested in a stroker, the stroke on the engine is fine enough.
    E) If I wanted mega-power/mega cubes, I would just get an LS7 bare block, I just want the most power I can get under the curve, and maximum drivability (by unshrouding the valves). There's no real threat of me building enough power to worry about needing an iron block.
I understand that. But for the cost of the resleeving alone you could have a larger cube motor. Even without stroking it. In my opinion unless you are pretty serious in a race bracket you will not notice the difference.

Yikes! That's about as bad as the time I had all my lugs go pop pop pop like corn while I was driving down the highway.

You do realize that the resleeve that I am talking about is adding cubes, as much a a 4.1 + bore (wouldn't go that far though), not a factory 3.89 bore. I wouldn't have to convert knock sensors, and other stuff.

The weight savings have as much, if not more, to do with handling and weight distribution than drag racing. I want to keep the nose plow and other things that a more biased distribution exhibits. And an iron block is going completely the opposite direction.

I am more likely to auto cross it than drag race it but I want the best of both worlds.

Took the T/A for a little drive last night, nothing crazy. Still trying to get a feel for what I need to put money into. After stepping into the throttle a bit, I got a reminder that wheel hop is a thing, and it's bad on this one. Right rear shock is toast which made it worse. So along with subframe connectors it would probably be good to go ahead and do shocks/springs, LCAs and panhard, and torque arm if funds allow.

I also got a little history that might help explain the lack of horsepower for the mods. There's a note on one of the dyno sheets that states the car ran out of fuel at 4800 RPM, recommend Racetronix fuel pump. The fuel pump is on there now, but I know now for certain the injectors are stock, and so are the 241 heads minus springs, pushrods and rockers. My guess is those poor helpless injectors are running at the very top of their capability all the time. The car runs fine for now, I wouldn't want more power on stock suspension right now anyway. But there is definitely room to improve on current engine mods down the road.

Had to run up to work today for a few minutes and took the Blue Mullet out since it was such a nice day. Noticed the parking lot at the Missouri National Guard Museum was empty so I swung in for a quick photo.

Got screwed on Friday when I tried to buy some fuel rail covers and 4 hrs later he says...sorry sold. After I asked a favor from brother to make a quick pickup since guy said he had them with him and was right by.

So today I filled it up and sent a message to see when my Smoothie Q will be done.

I don't see how you got screwed when something you wanted was already sold. Some items go quickly. If you want fuel rail covers, ebay is full of vette covers.

They were not sold. He said meet anytime. So I got my brother to text him to meet right away since he said, I have them with me. He doesn't bother to respond for 4 hours. Somehow while my brother waits around for a response, they sell.

I care less about the part then wasting my Brothers time. They were just something to screw around with.

Put new fog light housings in and finally put my 6le splitter on that I've had sitting in a closet for 2 years. Was worried it wouldn't look good on a pewter car but looks pretty decent.
