acid rain still exists. it's more localized than anything else but in large cities the rain that falls is laden with contaminants that make it more corrosive...sulfur for instance is one component of acid rain which is also a byproduct of many industries in their exhaust output...gets thrown into the atmosphere and water molecules bond to the sulfur and fall as acid rain.
it's actually naive to think that humans have had no impact on the earth that we live on whatsoever.
here is a diagram of the global temperature of the last 150 years...

notice the areas of the most drastic increases? the 1870's/1880's in america this is when the industrial revolution was moving away from wood burning and steam engines towards coal and to a lesser degree petroleum. the 1920's was the era of excess in the U.S. following WWI a time when america was expanding it's infrastructure. notice a peak in the early 1940's when industrialization for the war effort were at a peak as well as literally hundreds of thousands of airplanes in the sky during the war. fluctuating fuel prices keeps the table fairly level until the early 1980's when the price of petroleum fell and the U.S. started driving more vehicles and more coal and petroleum was used on a whole worldwide.
and if you aren't convinced by that how about taking a read through this link here...

"Sept. 11-14, 2001, had the biggest diurnal temperature range of any three-day period in the past 30 years," said Carleton.
The change in the temperature difference was plus 1.1 degree Celsius, equal to plus 2 degrees Fahrenheit, above the 30-year long-term mean diurnal temperature range. The researchers compared the temperature ranges on these three days to those of the three days directly before Sept. 11 and the three days after Sept. 14, finding that the days before and after were similar, but that the three days in question differed by 1.8 degrees Celsius or 3.2 degrees Fahrenheit.
that study was rare in that we will probably never be able to do it again but it directly linked human activity to climate change...yes it was a warming trend due to human inactivity due to increased solar radiation...but you wanted evidence that humans have affected the earths climate.
we have had our major industrial revolution in the U.S. that has driven us to success but the next logical step is to reduce the harmful emissions that we put into the air. china and india are about 90 years behind us speaking on terms of "industrial revolutions" so it is fair to say that if we alter what we are doing now here in the states that in the coming decades the other then industrialized nations will do the same.
