Meguiar's NXT....

Hey guys,

I'm no prof. detailer, however, I recently used Meguiar's NXT paste wax on my WS6- I was fairly impressed. I washed, clay bar'd, then went on to the wax.

For my application: Working a section/panel at a time, I used applicator provided (I noticed it has a different texture/viscosity than the norm wax I'd use), but it doesn't take much. I would then use a terry cloth to do an initial sweep over. I then broke out the orbital and ran a quick buff- which was immediate. It has a nice luster. Wonder about it's protective properties though. Any thoughts?

Wut u think of a carnuba wax coat over that? Or should I just strip and carnuba first?

No wax is going to last on your finish like a good polymer-based polish will.

I use RejeX on my daily drivers.
Water beads for at least 5 months. And the car sits outside all the time.

I've found the same thing.

I bought some Zaino and used that last time I waxed the car, I've been much more impressed with the durability compared with the Meguires. Although both provide and excellent shine when you first put them on.

Where you get Rejex? Never heard of.

For the price...I can agree.
But there are much better waxes out there that will protect better and shine better.
I use Victoria's Concours wax on mine.

what if u use a glaze, then the rejex? will it mess up the shine of the glaze? so it should last about 5 mos u say?

3 glazes I find to be compatible with Sealants:
-Prima Amigo
-Danase Wet Glaze
-CG EZ Creme Glaze (CG: Chemical Guys)

Do a google search for more info on these 3 products. I recommend either one to be used as a base for a polymer sealant...

Its a good wax but kinda hard to work with. I have a black car and if I miss a spot it really shows. Should last you about a month or so depending on the weather.

Well, I keep her garaged (while my wife's 2006 Jetta turbo sets outside. Ha!) so only gets weather when it's in parking lot at work.

I've been using the NXT for a few years now and love it.
I really haven't had durability issues either, Water will still bead 3-4 months after initial application.

Meguiar's will have a "improved version" of NXT come Janurary sometime called NXT 2.0 .......Along with a improved M21 2.0...

I used to think Meguiars was the best stuff out there.

Boy have I learned a lot.
It works great, but there are tons of better products out there.
