Check your TCP/IP settings to make sure they are set properly.

Sounds like a configuration problem... I'll guess the auto-detect for the IP settings is messed up. I have that prob with my DSL alot... since I doubt you know how to configure your setup manually, lets try this.
Ok, first, install the DSL companies program on the new computer... (if you have bellsouth/ATT I know this will for you)
Then, it should work. That easy.
If you already have it installed then do a settings restore from that program.

Eliminate the router and plug into the cable modem to see if it gets out... If it does then the problem is the router. If it doesn't, then ping the cable modem (gateway address) to see if it is physically seen. If it is seen, recpnfigure the network adapter with the settings from your internet provider and see if it works. If it works then you can add the router back into the mix. If it doesn't work, de-install the network adapter, restart, then re-install with default settings and try it again.
While you are at it, disable any firewall services that may be running in your computer. When SP2 for XP first came out it installed the firewall by default. Norton also installs its default firewall. Disable these if you have them for testing purposes, same for any other security software like AVG/TrendMicro, McAfee or whateevr other crap you have going on. Get rid of as many unknowns as possible. Once you can connect out then you can add back in what you think you need, one at a time, until it gets hosed up again.2002 Street ET Champion New England Dragway

First, the way its hooked up is a networking cable from router/box to the computer directly.(setup as a network, router with 2 computers hooked up to it)
Secondly, i have every anti virus and firewall deal turned off.
Third, i tried reinstalling the networking card and dsl software.....no luck
Next, it shows im hooked to router(connected at 100mps, packets are being sent and received)
BUT IM STILL GETTING THIS MESSAGE WITH AIM, IE, FIREFOX
server not found, server error....etc

My only suggestion if you cant find the answer here is maybe try to find a forum for people who are into computers (like we are ls1s) and ask them-maybe you already did? just a suggestion.

One of the computers can access the internet?? But the emachines can't??
Does the cable put into a PCI NIC card, or does the motherboard have a network connection on it?
May need to update the board drivers.

If you can use the other computer to get online, DL the drivers and burn them to a disc. Take them to the emachines and try updating them.
It sounds like the emachines is having a hardware conflict of some sort.

Will it ping a website IP address? I understand you can't access the http website but if you try and ping and IP does the signal go beyond the router?
Have you tried a different physical port on the router? Is you network adapter set up to autodetect or is it hard set? Have you taken the settings from the computer that works fine and implemented them on the computer that does not?

Buy a Dell. That way, you'll have a helpful support phone number, instead of an unhelpful car website.
