Hurst Shifter ?
Does anyone have any knowledge, opinions or comments about Hurst's 04-06 GTO Shifter PN 391-5065?
I'm thinking about getting one for the '04.
Thanks in advance,
Mich

The PRO 5.0 is much better piece. I don't like the feeling of the Hurst it's too knotchy for me!

I don't think Pro 5.0 currently makes a shifter the the GTO.
The GMM shifter is well regtarded as the best shifter upgrade you can get for a GTO. Its about $300, but it relocates the shifter so that its not remote mounted, which improves the feel and precision.
Heres the article on it from GM High Tech Performance:

Thanks for the info. Good article too. I'll use that for my future mods.
I have a new set of SLP coated headers, downpipes, Random tech cats coming next week. I think I'll go for the GMM Ripshifter.
Just out of curiousity, where can I look up info for the Pro 5.0? I'd like to see if they came out or are coming out with a shifter for the GTO.

Here's their website, I don't see any mention of anything for the GTO.

No problem. The Billet Products shifter feels like the Pro5.0 shifter does on T-5's to me if you have ever driven a Mustang with one of those.

Wow, I thought my posting here about a Hurst shifter went into oblivion. lol.
I should update this posting on my decision.
Well time flew by and I never got my shifter yet. I spent my previous "mad money" on a set of CV8R wheels from Wheel King in Australia and the rest on Goodyear F1 Eagles. So now winter is winding down and I made a ton of $$$ in overtime plowing snow, the tax return is looking good and I hit a Super Bowl pool with a friend for 10k...I think I can swing a GMPP Rip Shifter now.
I let you all know how the install this spring.04 Cosmos Purple M6, SAP Grills & Spoiler, '05 Hood, Procharger, TrickFlow 515 HP H/C Kit, SLP LT Headers/LM II, '05 Big Red Brake upgrade, Drag bags, Holden CV8R wheels, GMM Ripshifter. Tuned by New Era: 515 rwhp/471 ft.lbs. Retuned by J&J Speed: Speed Density tuned 586rwhp/ 492 ft.lbs.

Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
A buddy of mine who I have met from the other GTO forum has that. He had a Hurst but he said it was to difficult to shift with so he bought a Billet and now he is happy. I sat in his 06 and shifted the Hurst and the Billet and the Billet shifts way smoother. Mine came with a B&M and I'm not complaining.
