Rubbing problem

When i turn left at around 20 i hear and feel that my tire is rubbing and faster or slower it doesnt rub. My rims are stock my tires are 245/50 so there not large.

Hit any potholes or do a curb check recently?

Could be alignment is off.

Also, Check your bushings. Make sure none are bad.

It has to do with the fact that the stock panhard bar flexes. When autocrossing and turning left on some corners my right rear tire would rub with a stock wheel and tire size. It's not rubbing where you think it is. If you look inside your wheelwell towards the frame area you'll most likely see a shiny spot where the inside of your tire has been rubbing. The reason its probably not happening at higher speeds is the suspension is being loaded differently an your tire is farther up in the wheelwell At slower speeds your just not putting any real load on it at all.

I would get under the car and inspect the pan hard bar, mountings and bushings. And as mentioned in the previous post get your alignment checked. Although theres nothing to adjust on the rear of these cars when stock. A good adjustable aftermarket panhard bar will allow for adjustment and therefor better alignment. As long as your not racing in a stock class that doesn't allow such changes that would be my suggestion.

As a side note. the mounts for the panhard bar on the body are fairly bogus looking. I don't know if anyone has had trouble with the mounting points but they do concern me.

Where is the rubbing? Front or rear?

I didn't even consider the rear when you had asked. I just assumed front cause you said turning.

Stock tires are either 275/40/17's or 245/45/16's.

50's could make it rub. There isn't much room...even closer if the car is lowered.

Yeah but i have always had this size tire and it didnt happen efore i got it back from the dealership when they put my new ls1 in it.

The front, I assumed the rear because thats where I had problems with stock size tires and wheels. My Bad! Still get under the car a look for a shiney spot. Sounds like they didn't get something reinstalled correctly.

You can also chalk the inside sidewall of the tire and tread area and go take a couple of corners and stop and look to see where the chalk shows up. Sidewalk chalk is cheap and washes off easily!

Don't know why i typed 245,it is 275/40/17, my bad! That is on a ws6 package.

Well im alot lower than a ws6 trans am. But it just started since i got it back so i dont think its rubbing.
