    99 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28

    New windows 7 user..any tips?

    my pc took a dump lastnite it had some hard core virus on it. so i took it to a computer guy who wiped it clean and installed windows 7 which is an upgrade from the vista it had before...im curious of any new hints or tips you guys may have, as this is very confusing to me right now

    i dont like the fact i cant see my open windows/tabs on here. except for the little buttons on the bottom left and clicking them to see what i have open or not

    you can change all of that to make it exactly the way xp was if you want to... but after some time you will get used to it.. i HATED it at fist now i really like it. keeps things nice and neat.

    it just take some time to tweak things... just like anything new...

    First thing is do is type rec in the search box under start and make a system disk before doing too much. My pc used 3 dvds and laptop took 7

    Back it up before you screw it up.

    Use an image based backup and backup to external disk. create a customized boot CD if necessary and actually test it before changing stuff. I can do a complete restoration is about an hour of my entire desktop or laptop, even to different hardware if necessary, and by complete I mean everything (OS, programs, updates and patches, as well as data files). The system makes a backup automatically each night and sends me an email informing me of the success or failure of the backup.
