Sometimes my parking lights will not turn off i have to disconnect battery to reset. then this morning went in the garage and they were on. alarm system has not been working for years.if i cant figure this out i will install cut off switch.

You could try and take the switch apart and see if there is any visible damage to it. I.E. exposed wiring, burn marks...

You could also just try and disconnect the switch, making sure all wires are insulated and not shorting out. Then see if the problem persists. If it doesn't a new switch should be on order.
