F-body fix without the F-body
So I picked up Gran Turismo PSP.... which on paper sounds great.
800 cars
35 tracks
60 variations
Sounds awesome! Physics are somewhere in between GT4 and GT5 Prologue, meaning still very good but not as good as a true analog controller. Sadly the game sucks big time. No career mode. No way of browsing dealers....
Allow me to explain that one. So the game has 800 cars yeah? Awesome. Well I want me a Buick GNX. I can't have one.... because it's not the right day for the buick dealership... yeah well
I want my GNX because it's in the game and I paid for the game and I have enough credits to buy it.... Well too bad I (the game) won't let you have it until some random date that the buick dealership appears on the home screen... But you better be fast because the dealership will only be available for 2 game days. 2 game days meaning 2 races.
Basically only 4 dealers are available at any one time and only 12 random cars max at each dealer. REALLY SUCKS
Annoying stuff like that aside there are some GM goodies to be had in game:
CADILLAC
Cien Concept ('02)
CHEVROLET
Camaro IROC-Z Concept ('88)
Camaro SS 350 ('69)
Camaro SS ('00)
Camaro Z28 302 ('69)
Camaro Z28 ('97)
Camaro LM Edition ('01)
Chevelle SS 454 ('70)
Corvette Convertible ('54)
Corvette Grand Sport ('96)
Corvette Stingray ('63)
Corvette Stingray L46 350 ('69)
Corvette Z06 Race Car ('63)
Corvette Z06 ('06)
Corvette ZR-1 ('90)
Corvette ZR-1 ('09)
Corvette C5-R ('00)
Siverado SST Concept ('02)
SSR ('03)
PONTIAC
GTO 5.7 ('04)
Solstice Concept ('02)
Sunfire GXP Concept ('02)
Tempest LeMans GTO ('64)
Vibe GT ('03)
OK so there's no TA... stupid Forza.... but I still get a couple of F-bodys to throw around on my daily train ride into work.

Does the game time run off the PSP time? If so just change the PSP settings to whenever that dealership is supposed to open.

that car list for GM you posted looks exactly like GT4. Only difference I see is the 97 Camaro.

Yeah it basically is GT4 with some more cars added.
Changing the time wouldn't work. The dealership change is based on races. Drive 2 races and the dealerships change... at random

I'll stick to my GT4. When I get PS3, and GT5 is like the PSP game, I will SO be disappoint.

the game was like 30 bucks... hardly comparable to headers. I played the hell out of it today. the game still plays like a GT game... just don't expect the collection to grow the way you want it to and there are no structured events. IMO the events are a concession to the fact that Jay Leno does all the voiceovers and they crammed 800 cars... with interior views... into a tiny UMD. so yeah heres a bunch of cars and tracks and jay lenos voice good luck... thats about the jist of the game. Also as in GT1 every single car has a writeup about it. I missed that in GT2,3,4,Prologue.

I missed the writeups as well. Remember the booklets with the original games? Actual driving tips and shit in those, not faked up video game shit, but actual tips/tricks to pull of real driving maneuvers.

I missed the writeups as well. GT1 was great for that. Would practically give you EVERYTHING about the car you picked. Horespower, history, who designed the car. That is why I love the Skyline GTR so much...and I find the R35 in the "meh" category.
