Automatic Swap out for 6 speed???
Is it possible to swap out a 4L60E with a T56 6 speed transmission in my WS6?? I've done already had my auto go out on me and its going again. And if i buy a new one and have to spend the money I would like a 6 speed over a auto. What do i need to know about converting from the auto to the 6 speed???

what you need to know is that the swap is possible..but expensive. You would be better off selling your car ..or trading it for a m6...you need the hydraulics systems, the clutch, the tune, and console modification or swamping..and in reality ..you will need gears..especially if you are running 2.73s
why not buy a real transmission if you are going through them so fast..get a flt 4l60e transmission or get a flt 4l80e

So ur saying buy a stronger automatic transmission?? The 4L60E i have now has 130000, i had it rebuilt thinking it would last but that wasnt the case.. I'm making close to 400 hps, are these tranys ur talkin about strong enough for that??? i was just curious about the 6 speed swap, i didnt know how difficult it would be or what it would cost

a rebuilt doesn't mean anything if the shop that did it is not reputable or etc. The parts they replace have a big thing to do with it..like the sun shell etc...a 4l60e can be made to hold decent power..but cooling needs to be addressed ..and the biggest is the sun shell..
go here
call or just do a search and take the plunge..i will be going with a flt 4l60e stage 4

what stage you get depends on what your use for the car is/mods
for what i want to do with my car..a 4l80e will more then likely be needed..but realistically ..a stage 4 4l60e should be more then enough for a long while.
i have herd great things about FLT..enough so where i decided pretty early that they will be my transmission go to shop.

Where are they located? My car is mostly and nice day drive, just to get out everyonce and a while and have alittle fun with some power under my foot... I will most likely not be hitting the strip.. So stage 4 is a good recommendation? Does it come with a stall?

i think a stage 3 would be good for you ..or maybe even get away with a stage 2 ...the big thing is strip action..but since its more so a weekend driver ...then i think a stage 2-3 would be good..i dont believe a stall comes with..might i recommend a yank 3600 or 4000
here
if you are anything like me..you only want the best for your car..no matter the price
