Piece of shit Slp strut tower cracked again
okay some of you chimed in on the last thread where i bought a new stb from slp and the powder coat flaked off when i torqued down the nuts, well finally i received my 2nd stb and the son of a bitch flaked again, what a piece of shit.
i will be back on the phone with slp in the morning requesting all of my money back and telling them i will be ordering a umi in the morning.
dont get me wrong the guys are cool over there but this is 2 products both defective, come on you pay top dollar for shit parts.
my frustration reached an all time high with the after market industry today.
any comments suggestions or criticism?

Pewter metallic- 2000 Camaro SS
Those SOBs screwed me over twice, real bad. I should have learned after the first time, but definitely learned after the second time. Chalk up another satisified SLP customer
The nicest thing I can say about SLP is they probably haven't ever murdered anyone. Other than that, I have nothing positive to say about them.
I am sorry its happening to you Luke

I heard they are just cosmetic; that they don't really do anything....
My 2003 Impala LS came with one stock I noticed yesterday.... I've driven the Impala almost 75,000 miles and never noticed.

Mr. Strano pretty much said that, because our cars don't use struts. At least I think that's the way I read it.....

So I just ordered mine last week and got it in today. I tried to put it on but it is a no go. Did anyone have any alignment issues with their STB fro SLP? It has the slotted holes on the bar but the way the bar lines up is the bolts are on the back side of the holes and the bar will not go down freely. I can however convence it with a BFH but don't want to damage my bolts for my struts. I didn't have to do this on my 180sx or my GTS-T R32 in Oki.

Are you using a washer on top? I have the SLP and have had 0 issues.

yeah they dont do shit, but i am returning my car to stock so i need it,
the first time i installed the bar i used the washers, it made the coating flake off right when it started to get tight, after closely reading the directions supplied this time it says to put the washers on the studs then install the brace over that then install the nuts and torq to 32 ft lbs, thats exactly how i did it and the coating came flying off again.

I got the umi, no problems as of yet. SLP seems to be high on price but low on quality for that high price. They have the name I guess...

The only thing I have bought is the lid....I won't buy anything else from them, that's for sure. I've seen thread upon thread complaining about their headers (especially clearance issues), strut tower brace, etc. etc. There are just way too many other products that are cheaper and of higher quality. I'm sorry that you got screwed, I hope you get your money back, man. Tell them you want a refund for all the beer you had to drink to suppress the pain involved.

I called them back today to talk to them about the issue I am having. They said I should try to jack the car up by the cross member to pull the flex out of the body then try to put it on. Did anybody else have to do this? Why don't they put it as a note in the instructions so they don't look bad when it doesn't fit initially.
