idle
let me start by saying hey, i tried the new link but i got a broken message. anyway i bought a 01 ss for my daughter from a bank repo. the cars in pretty good shape. but there nothing stock about it its camed oversize throttle body about an 1800 stall. when i took it for a test drive i punched it doing about 35 and it lit em up then i had to have it. but heres the problem i have know idea exactly whats in it, i later discoved its not even the ls block, its a cast iron block when i replaced the water pump 6.1 was stamped on the block. this thing is a mystery. it doesnt have headers and im wondering if thats why i cant get it to idle. any advice

wow, umm, welcome to the site.
Are you able to take some pics and post here. You will need to use something like Photobucket in order to post.
Here's the answer to what's photobucket if you do not already know.

Based on what you describe it sounds like you may have a LQ4 or LQ9 iron block, which are 6.0 liter motors. Both are very common when ppl are wanting to replace their LS1.
