Benefits of LS6 vally cover conversion
I know that one of them is that it helps with the oil problem that gets into our intakes. I have a catch can already. Any other benefits? Thanks.

Gets rid of the POS PCV hose that deteriorates over time.
Also it cleans up the engine bay.

It is a great mod to be done.
I just did this last week. You only have a couple of areas that you need to pay attention to detail when doing this mod.
1) Removing and Installing the Intake. The OPSU is located directly behind the Intake. A thick hose that connects the Intake to the Break Booster can snap the OPSU while removing and Installing. Have an extra set of hands to help remove and install it.
2) Knock Sensor Wire Harness - While installing the Intake it can drag the wire harness and get wedge in between the Intake and Cylinder Heads. I used so high temp tape to hold it in place.
3) Depending on what yr your car is, if your lucky and have the LS6 Block then you are free and clear, however if you have a 98-99 LS1 Block then you have to grind down a section of the block to make room for the new PCV tube. Cover that area well to prevent shavings getting into the block. I had my buddy used a shop vac while I made the cuts. It keep the dust and debris down.Last edited by SMWS6TA; 02-14-2011 at 08:02 AM.

Any tell tale signs you have an LS6 block beside checking the block's casting #?

I had a delay in my order because of the Valley Cover tray. Also it's a good time to change your Knock Sensors to the 99"-02" You will need a new wire harness to.
If you need the part numbers let me know.
