HEADLIGHT problem!!
Replaced the headlight motor gear and there was nothing wrong with it and all of a sudden it now grinds and doesnt come up at times? If I goto put just the fogs on the pop up lights pop up too?...if I turn car off than start again and just put on the fogs they will go on alone without the pop up lights? any help guys? the motors are find and so are the bump stops that stop the motor? any idea could it be the headlight motor module? its weird cause it comes and goes? thank you

I'd say you still have an issue with a gear on whatever side it's grinding. That's what creates these weird issues with the lights raising and lowering incorrectly. Check and make sure your back didn't come off.....heard of that happening quite a bit. The epoxy doesn't hold and the back comes loose.

ZIP TIES!!! i got them holding the back on one of mine. its been on for 2 years, no issues. just use 4 ties and have all the connectors in the corner so its a tight fit.

Mine would grind for 10 seconds after they come up on my 95 firebird, I just had to adjust them and glue the bottom back together since it cracked in half, now their fine.

The grinding is 100% without a doubt the gear. When you say fogs do you mean fogs or running lights? My fogs are on a seperate switch from the headlights. When you reinstalled the headlight motor if you happen to put the arm on backwards( its easy to do) it will cause the headlights to operate very strange like one up and one down. Ive had a brass gear in mine for over a year and the other day it started grinding again. Sure enough the backing came loose and I used zip ties to put it back together.

Follow the above advice, you will most likely find the problem is the headlight gear. Incorrectly put together or it is stripped.

It doesn't matter if you win by an inch, or a mile. Winning is winning

I thank my lucky stars that mine went within the first 3 years. Passenger side started grinding, dealer replaced. I then complained that drive side opened/closed slower than passenger side, and they replaced that one too. They've been good now for 6 years.
