Difference in SFC brands?
Is there any difference between the SLP SFC and the UMI SFC, besides UMI is about $50 cheaper?

UMI

Their strength will depend on the guage of metal used to constuct them. Along with the penetration of the welds, and the shape. Sertain bends will add strength to any piece while others will be weak or do nothing. I'd have to have one of each in front of me to determine any of thier possible differences..

Dollar for Dollar you cannot beat UMI Performance. The materials are top knotch and they pride themselves on building quality that is made in the USA. Support after the sale is also great! Now aside from UMI as a company their SFC's are superior to the SLP's because they also support the LCA mounting points.

Usually round tubular type constriction is stronger provided the two are made from the same type and guage of steel and metalurgy. An arch or circular structure by physics tends to be very stong and less likely to "crush".. Square tubing while very strong in it's own right, gets it's strength from it's 90* corners only. Round tends to be strong along it's entire surface area or circumferance(sp).

But BMR doesn't make a 3 point connection, which I've read is the best way to go for SFC. Compared to 2 point, I'm sure they're a good product, but I'm looking into the 3 point for my car.
Makes good sense. But (I realize this question may not be able to be answered without proper tests) I imagine that the strength of the 90*'s in the square tubing should be stronger than any point in the circular tubing. With that said, the flat portions of the square tubing would be weaker than any point in the circular tubing. So that would lead me to wonder if the total strength of the square tubing would be greater than the circular tubing. I guess this also depends on which way the SFC get torqued...
(This difference is probably small enough to be neglected and I'm wasting my time putting this much thought into it)

I dont know or think Kenny Brown makes them anymore but the ones on my car are light and tuck up really nice. I have to really try hard to see them underneath the car. You would have to get on the ground and look up a bit to be able to see them. Im very happy with mine.

Do any of the three point SFC interfere with aftermarket exhaust setups? (namely longtubes and ORY)
