Shifter Knob
Any one know how to get the shifter knob off on a 02 camaro with an auto. I can see a slit on the front of the knob, but I dont want to mess with it and jack it up.

There's supposed to be a clip on the handle that you need to pull out in order to remove it. If there's no slit in the back of the handle, the front one probably has the clip. After you remove it, the handle should just lift off.

^^^ what he said
get a small pair of needle nose pliers or a something small and the clip inside that slit should slip out
best when the car is in neutral or anywhere the shifter is tilted back
chock the wheels

Yes, you need a flat head screwdriver, gently pry that staple out from the front of the knob and it should come off fairly easy from there.

There was a guy years ago, constrictor, he cut his down short and placed a call type on there. There are some options out there. Some guys still make billet AT shifter knobs, just gotta find it

Thats mine, it has an SS on top of it. Its cold in winter and hot in summer, so its a good idea to have a rag to cover it with sometimes. Shop around on the net, there are options similar to mine out there. If you can't find any sites, shoot me a PM and I probably have some bookmarked.
