01 ss automatic to six speed?

I have a 01 ss with an auto trans. Is it possible to convert it over to a six speed? If so how much do yall think it would run and do you know anyone that is up for the work?

I'd look at the car yards for the whole kit.If you piece it, the trans will be the highest cost part.Make sure you have trans gone thru before install. I have a man here in pa that does trans for 300 labor and rebuild parts for 200=500 totalClutch runs about 350.All other parts are the yards or e-bay but be carefull in e-bay.Also if you care,I'm interested in your auto trans if sold as a kit.Contact me at Tom01SS@aol.com.Good hunting

I saw a guy who had a used tranny that needed to be gone thru for $450.00 on ls1tech It was posted like 2 days ago. What mods do you have on your car? If not alot I would suggest maybe just selling it and buying a standard. I'm assuming the only reason you want to do this sort of swap is for driving pleasure. So if you want to change all that stuff on your car then you must really want to drive a stick. Will you have to get a different pcm or flash it? Maybe somone else can answer that. The PCM might just know based on whats plugged into it though. Just my 1 cent.

I bought the car a year ago with 4 thousand miles on it and now its got 9 thousand on it and its just a bolt on car, and workin on a head/cam. I like the auto for performance but i think its time to get a six speed. Like to drive stand. more.
