Is rule #1 "You don't talk about the Hellcat"?
some of those were pretty funny.
some of it was funny.....some of it makes me think he doesn't know a whole lot more than the people he's trying to educate.
3 mins to get to rule #2....:tired::zzz:
Any one else think that this sounded funnier in his own head then how it comes across?
yep.....I also liked the "automatic spoiler" deal he spent quite a bit of time on. Really made the Crossfire owners happy to hear that I bet and now most can say hellcat drivers are scared to race them. Also....dodge didn't put wide tires on the back because he assumes dodge thought the buyer would do it.
I would love to answer that one for him.....Hey moron, It's called economics, Dodge didn't do it because they are cheap, like every other car company.....
Also, any Hellcat driver that loses to a boast 4 cyl car needs to quit driving and return the car.
I took it as some of it was serious, and the rest of it wasn't. I liked it. :D
I will say that a 275/40/20 tire on that car is severe under kill. That's only 1.2" wider than the stock tires on my bird and that car has 400 more HP than mine did factory.
I think the hellcat comes with Pirelli's so they arent "cheap" necessarily but they are definitely WAY too skinny. The viper has less HP and has 355's stock in the rear. Hell, even the fronts are wider than the rears on a hellcat. They are a 295 if I remember correctly...that should really put it into perspective.
Pat I'm fairly sure that a Pirelli 295 tire is cheaper than a 355. Many ways for them to skimp on. It's not just Dodge, it's all manufactures.
Oh I'm not defending them...car manufacturers usually put absolute junk tires on cars unless they are a higher end car. My truck "and all other current models" came with GoodYear HP Wranglers...absolute bottom of the barrel when its comes to tires. Terrible traction, sidewalls were so thin I could press them in when they were fully inflated, etc etc etc.
I was just saying at least they put Pirelli's on it instead of some other junk lol It was almost like they said "well...we're going to screw up the tires so lets try to be a little nicer than usual and put a decent set on it instead of complete junk."
I think Dodge could have and should have raised the price by another $1000-2000 and put wider tires on it...the ones it come with are pretty useless.
Hell, even my dads SRT is useless when it comes to tires...rears are 275's also and they just spin and spin and spin. His is the 470hp version so I could only imagine what 700hp would do to them.
Dodge isn't going to sell the Hellcat with drag radials FFS. I think that's what the guy in the vid meant. Dodge expects the owner to buy those types of tires if the owner wants better performance at the drag strip. That's pretty much not saying anything different of any manufacturer.
^^ this.
It's like have skinny's all the way around
I might write my congressman about how crazy the tire setup is...in fact, I will lol cant wait to see the response I get...
"Why are you as a congressman allowing these atrocities and complete lack of safety to happen under your watch?"
If you had real balls you do a White House petition....:D
Ask and you shall receive...

Lol... the guy satire wasn't nearly as funny as your petition. You should comment on the video with a link for more signatures.
You think the small tires were for fuel economy? At least it gets mpg and not gpm
You got mine friend. Only 99,997 left
Signed :lmao:
thank you sir! :bravo:
Help stop the madness and end the era of skinny tires on high HP cars...

Ya'll have fun with the spam you're about to get....
I only get spam from moveon.org :dunno:
I'm up to 9 signatures...no idea who's signing this thing  I can only account for a couple from this forum.
I would like to sign it, but I think the government needs to supply me with a Hellcat for a couple of weeks so that I can attest to the veracity of your claim...
With my luck they'll remove the danger by making the car illegal.
LMAO..I'd still take one over the new Z06 though.

That, and read about the Sledgehammer package- available in 2016. Sometimes waiting is a good thing...

You'll change your mind again
now that's the tire you put on a high HP car......355/30/19. Roughly 3" wider than what's on the hellcat.
pirelli p zero in that size is about an $800 tire
Depending on what GM does over the next year, I very well may. For the price tag that these cars go for, I'm not going to throw my money away. Pobst ripped that car apart and Chevrolet has made some pretty big claims that it's going to have to live up to. I'm not Corvette hating. Every new model has issues that need to be worked out. However, I haven't seen a car take a beating like his right out the gates in a long while. Not even the Viper. It's getting its ass kicked by almost everything. Seeing CF in mass hysteria is pretty funny though...

Widest tire on any factory car right?
That's the reason I will never spend that kind of money on a car. Always some tweak or better redesign etc within a year or two and you'll wish you had waited
As I stated in the other thread. If everyone left their car stock, then I'd be concerned. The ZO6 getting "it's ass kicked", or the comment of "I'm not going to throw my money away" really doesn't hold much water. (sorry cam02) The other element is this: how many of us are going to race any of the cars mentioned(ZO6, Viper, GTR, etc) competitively and race for money - or even attempt to make a name for ourselves in the racing world? Especially throwing your own money away. If any of us were that good, our sponsors of the car could throw their money away on the car for us, and our pocket books wouldn't have to worry about it.
I believe that there are plenty of modified ZR1's, Vipers & GTR's out there that that will lay the smack down on any production car made, and will for a long time.
I will rephrase that, however I stand by my original statement. I am not going to spend money on a first year model car that will be revised to get rid of the multitude of problems that it has. Over heating, computer pulling power, transmission popping out of gear. All those are repeat issues being mentioned over on CF. I'd rather wait for the bugs to be worked out than have to deal with warranty claims. Secondly, when the C6 Z06 and C6 ZR1 came out, they immediately dominated both on the track, and street in stock form. They were game changers. This car is not. All of the hype behind it, and then the reality of what happened when the car was introduced is night and day compaired to the aforementioned.
Your last statement hits the nail on the head. LMR heavily modified the ZR1. If I end up with a Z06 I will have them modify that as well. I believe their stage III package/nitrous C7 Z06 just put down well over 900 hp. Same for the Viper. Click the "Viper Accessories" link at the top of this page and you'll see a 900 hp package coming next year for the gen V. Either way, I'll end up with a modified car.
:yup: I believe I said something along the lines of not buying a first year car in your initial thread when you placed your ZO6 order. At least I thought I did? Who-TF knows, I'm getting old :D
And, I knew you'd end up with a modified car, no questions about it.
Oh, and back to the C6 being a game changer - I agree. The difference now is that everyone else (Viper, GTR, etc) has caught up, and the ZO6 isn't a game changer because of that. Technology leads us forward - and I like that. :D
I had an '07 ZO6 before this car. I really did love it. Mostly, I love the sound of that 427  To me, it's the best sound I've heard from a N/A engine......and I've always been a big block Chevrolet guy. My '68 sounds great.........but that LS7 sounds just a little bit better.
Dynoed an 06 Z06 cammed with a D1 I think. 7k+ sings so nicely in those
So I guess people in Washington are actually paying attention to what petitions are created lol I just got a notice that they killed mine...I was upset for a minute, but I got over it.
:sulk: Maybe if you spoke in support Obama and co...
