I guess it is a new month... I'm aboard.
:nomail::nomail::nilly: I know I just order the parts but I'm still:brick::brick: till they get here.
I miss driving my T/A.
need 5:00... traffic is going to suck ass cause of all the people leaving for vacation and shit... i was al ready screaming at people when i went to the post office... fucking infestations...
I have to say the only good thing about the oil leak is that traffic isn't pure hell this summer. Then again I know it's because nobody wants to see oil washing on the beaches. So far we are lucky, only getting the tar balls.
im stayin away from the beach as well...
1) the weather is shitty cause of hurricane alex
2)im goin up to the country to blow shit up and let my kids shoot at animals...
Gf is talking about getting up early sunday to head to the shore to leave sometime sunday night :nilly:
4-day weekend! I hope I can remember some of it after it's over....
Jus' got home from werkin. Put in a couple (4) ductless split a/c's and got fucking stung in the eyebrow. Cocksucking bees. I'll be taking a ride in a Challenger R/T next tuesday though.
So yeah...got my quad tore apart two days ago or so. Never put it back together though. lmao.
Never marked where the timing chain went on cam sprocket. Don't remember which orientation the cam originally had when it was in. Don't remember what shims were where on the valves. And to top it all off, don't have any clue on what clearance will be with my high compression piston. So...basically, I think I'm a take it to a pro and let them finish the job. lmao.
Back from work, pissed off as hell. Getting a damned beer ASAP!!!!! :drunk2:
Double fatal motorcycle crash yesterday. Tell me this wouldn't be the scariest last moments of your life.
Two people, on a harley. No helmets(not required in Iowa). Driving 65-70mph down two lane divided. Guy driving was an epileptic. Had a siezure. Woman on back couldn't do anything really. Lost control just as they were going over this little bridge...right into a guard rail. How scary would that be, sitting on back nothing you can do.
:nilly: :nilly: :nilly:
There is a 1970 Hemi Roadrunner with a manual trans, 23000 miles and it's been in storage since 1974 on craiglist. Fucking 1000$. No Title. :nilly: waiting for call back :crossfingers: :nilly:
yeah, i know. It'd be fuckin' amazing though wouldn't it? It'd be a 426 hemi and either a 3 or 4spd.
Staying at this badass beach house for 2 weeks in NC, leaving Monday morning. Should be fun, especially since I can take my truck.
Yah, yah Carpy. Howya doin?
So sick, love the way the Duramax's sound. What a badass truck.

speaking of dizzals, figuring out how to permanantly fix my grandpa's 6.0 ford problems. Needs and egr delete and retune. For now we just run it from a dig to 120 and add ford diesel treatment. Otherwise it's rough and sucks for power. Weird hearing a warmed up diesel chop at idle.. I told him to buy a duramax
it's not pushing gaskets or anything (supershits tow tune), so egr should be the only problem. When he stops working in it i'm putting a catless turbo back on there for him. Fun
Yea I've heard you have to dump tons of money into those 6.0's to make them "reliable".
But if Ford is his thing, he could get an F-250 with the new 6.7, from what I've heard, they seem to be pretty damn incredible. I don't think the 6.4 is that bad either, but they get some shitty ass gas mileage. They seem to have a bad rap because of the 6.0, but don't really appear to have anymore problems than any of the other diesels out there.
besides, it was flagged for removal :lmao:
1. no, this isn't some faggot diesel ricer. It's an old man with a barely above stock tune. Egr problem is worse for him because he idles for days on drill locations.
2. He's just about retired. If he gets rid of it, it will be for a light duty truvk or car. Super duty trucks are rough as hell. And those new mf's are easily into the 60k range
3. it is. After my uncle's 6.0 turbo fragged, he got an f-150, then a new 6.4 f-350. It's a real piece of work
Ok -- since we have all you truck nuts on the train...
I am considering a truck to tow a car trailer -- probably an aluminum tandem axle trailer hauling a 3,600 lb. car. What do I want to get?
GM forum=DURAMAX.
That I could not tell ya. I cannot currently remember if the Duramax comes with Displacement On Demand. :hmm:
According to Edmunds:
A: GM initially claimed the Duramax fuel mileage would be 15-20% better than that of the retiring 6.5L turbo diesel. We have learned that this prediction was a little optimistic, but the 2500HD/3500 Duramax diesel trucks are producing 17-21 mpg when driven empty and 9-13 mpg while towing. Of course, fuel economy is highly dependent on load, speed, terrain and most importantly - individual driving style. Many hundreds of Duramax owners have participated in a fuel economy poll. Click the following link to learn more about Duramax 6600 fuel economy
Only thing I don't like about the Duramax is it is too quiet.
We got 12-14 with my dad's 2500 Ram prior to DPF Delete. Now that the bitch can breath, we have been averaging 17 in the summer months. Winter, with 4wd and the winter mix fuel, 13-15. This is all calculator averages not the damned overhead that everyone trusts.
edit: forgot to add that its a standard cab long box with 265/70/17 mud terrains and a contractors cap loaded on both sides and the bed half-full of tools, 2 ladders on top. remove cap, return to 245/17's street tires and expect much better economy.
sup fuckers
I wanna see a new Power Wagon. BFT!!!
Ok, that'd be great, I'll give you a shout once I know exactly where we'll be in OBX. And I'm not the kind of guy that slides into flip-flops and goes running around on the beach, not my thing, I'm hoping thats not the only thing to do out there.
Thats the 2nd time i've heard a story about the the turbos on the 6.0's exploding. Thats just ridiculous.
But on another note, I understand your grandfathers an older guy and not one of those faggot diesel ricer dudes, I was just saying, I've heard it gets pretty expensive to actually make those 6.0's reliable. And i've heard nothing but good things about the 6.4's except that they just get bad gas mileage.

I don't know the exact payload on these, but you might be able to just get a 2500 6.0 Vortec Silverado and tow your car and that Aluminum trailer, but I'd get a diesel just to be safe, and the 6.0 Silvy's get pretty terrible gas mileage if my memory serves me correctly. Probably the Duramax or Cummins if I had to pick a diesel though.
next goal: learning to read
Didn't you sign any legal forms?
It's so awesome to see job opportunities online and seeing you meet the requirements.:yup:
Just applied to a local Midas shop. I haven't heard from STS corporate about a pay increase...so I am keeping my options open.
Time to go home yet?
Night shift again Zap?
Saw a new 5.0 GT around today.
I was in the Grand Ma.

I am considering a truck to tow a car trailer -- probably an aluminum tandem axle trailer hauling a 3,600 lb. car. What do I want to get?I'm going to just unplug the connection of the egr valve tomorrow and see if it leaks (exhaust into the intake). If it throws a code just hook it back up for inspection. If it doesn't seal off the exhaust i'll get a cheap block off or make one. My grandpa's last truck was a 1500hd 4x4 crew. Had 4.10 gears and was still completely sackless. Catback exhaust only. Had to rev to get anywhere unloaded. With his oil field gear and living accomodations (over 1k on the truck) it was complete garbage. Can't imagine it with his big open trailer loaded up. Seems the vortec 350 z71 half ton he had previously had power more where it should be in a work truck. I told him to get the 8.1... But that is an oil burning posQuote:

edit: was a 6.0 gasser ^ also, other than the regen problems which were fixed with a retune, some turbos have to be replaced neccisating cab removal for access..
Jo Garcia is fantastic.
[quote=wheeliE-maxx;2374521]Man, so the 6.0 gasser is a slouch too? And you said he had 4.10's as well? Damn, and he had the 1500HD, and I THINK that the 2500's are a little beefier than the 1500's in terms of weight so it's probably even more sluggish in the 2500, not a good thing.
And the 8.1? Thats that Big Block that came in like the Heavy duty Avalanches i guess you could call them??? Not sure about the Avalanches but i think they came in one model. But I know they also came in the 2500 Suburbans. I had no idea you could get them in Silverados as well.
And it's weird how everyone else had all these great experiences with their 5.7 Vortec powered Chevy truck while my folks 96' Tahoe was just a nightmare on wheels and completley self-destructed at like 125k, I just don't get it, I'm starting to take what people say about those trucks with a grain of salt.
Slowass shall get 4.56's this winter. :)
God damn you highschoolers fail at quoting posts, don't they teach you anything these days?

They didn't teach me shit in high school.
