I ran mine up through the shifter boot so I didn't have to drill any holes in the car. From there its a simple ground and the other wire to 12 volt switched power.
i ran mine thru one of the drain plugs on the bottom of the car, and the switch i ran thru the firewall with my power wire for my sound system, i used zip ties to tighten up the wire and keep it from getting loose and dragging on the ground. i used the battery wire going form my starter to my battery for the wire, because it had a small wire with a but connector on it already.
so which wire did you splice into? b/c if you hook up to the 12V source off the batt. youll have power all the timeQuote:

I ran mine through the grommet under the passenger seat then used a quarter inch spade connector on the end of the wire and used an auxillary spot in the fuse box.
